Mark On The Dot Neutral Eye Color Compact Review, Swatches, Photos

Nude girls gather round, that sounded a bit perverse but you know what I mean…all the ladies (and lads) that enjoy themselves a nude look with a little flair will adore the new Mark on the Dot Eye Color Compact which features nine shades of metallic eyeshadows in an array of nude, natural shades of brown, plum, and taupe.

Shall we have a look?

With shadows that are smaller than a dime this one could prove disappointing in regards to quantity but quality is there and that’s all a girl can ask for right? I’d rather have a little with alot of a great formula versus alot with a shabby, rubbish formula, you with me?

The mark On The Dot Neutral Eye Color Compact is the second release of the On the Dot Palette series as Mark released a color version earlier last year. I like the color one well enough and at some point I do promise to review it but I’m all about nude, natural shades of color lately so I do so admit that I adore this color selection best!

This palette is made up of warm browns, plums, taupe, and champagne shades of beige (think Stila Kitten) all with a metallic finish. The finish on my eyes goes a bit frosty and shimmery but it blends easily down for a gleaming metallic look. I love how much pigmentation Mark packed into each tiny shadow as they truly have a super color pay off. On top of the great pigmentation you also get a velvet-y shadow with a buttery texture that applies easily onto lids for smooth, flawless results although on lids with finer lines beware as these could prove tricky during application since they are a bit of a heavier shadow formula. They wore long and strong for me with no fading or creasing issues so long as I prepped prior with a bit of Urban Decay Primer Potion. Without primer in place color still stayed very true but I saw minor creasing issues within five hours on my dry lids (can’t speak for oily lids but obviously wear time will vary if you have such an issue).

The compact is small and travels easily. I felt like the shadows are firmly in place so a little toss and a jostle won’t cause any cracking or breaking as you tote them around. You get a dual ended sponge applicator for application as well which packs color on nicely and works best to get the shadows on perfectly. The well for the shadow applicator houses a strip of mirror which I found useless…the compact itself has room for a mirror but they didn’t bother placing one in which I found rather disappointing a bit as it belittles the overall packaging. But hey, I don’t normally use mirrors in eyeshadow palettes anyway so no reason to rant too much.

Overall, this one packs a nice pop of color and makes an ideal pick for the chicas who love shades like these that have a little drama and flair courtesy the metallic finish on each. Mark did a great job with it and it deserves a Muse Approval. The $15 price tag is a little high since the shadows are an ickle small but I’d say it’s worth the haul anyway since you’re paying into a quality formula.

Loves it!

i am mad at myself for not buying this when it was in my demo book when it first came out so it would have been way cheaper for me to get, lol

I am too a rep and you can back order demos, just do a search for the product via the description and you should still be able to add it as a demo, I did the same with the squeeze and shines!

I’m a mark. rep and LOVE this palette! They’re neutral, but there’s plenty of sparkle to them! Love how you look in them too! 🙂

Wow! I have never bought anything from Mark, and I promised myself I wouldn’t buy any new eyeshadows… But those colors are fantastic! Just the right around of shimmer! And portability! Looks like I will be placing my first Mark order…

OMG I am SO HAPPY! When I saw this in the catalog I was hoping you would review this and I really appreciate that you did! I have been really happy with the mark products, their quality has been great for the most part. I wish the main Avon line would catch up with them!

Muse have you tested the mark Please Hold eyeshadow primer as I am thinking about trying that as well. Thanks again for reviewing!
