NYX Butt Naked Eyes Makeup Palette

NYX has a brand new nude, naked, natural palette for us folk who enjoy a more natural look!

The NYX Butt Naked Eyes Makeup Palette definitely looks interesting!

This one is filled with 15 shades of neutral matte and shimmer eye shadows as well as four blushes, two cheek illuminators and a definitely bronzer (yay for new cream lip products).

I like the softer colors but not sure I can pull them off as they lean towards being a little pastel or is it me?

I want this one though, curious minds what kind of looks I can create with.

It’s $25 and available now from www.nyxcosmetics.com

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. eeks, but the name? “BUTT NAKED” I don’t know if I should cringe or not?

  • Beauty and the Scientist

I can’t keep up!!!! and I just got the Nude on Nude one.

  • Josh :D

This is much more up my alley than the nude on nude! (I love my cool toned neutrals — grays, silvers, taupes HOORAY!)

  • Aging_Beauty

I love that it has no lip products! I do think that the photograph isn’t showing the richness of the shades – just look at the blushes and bronzer, you know? Too pale, poor lighting, don’t you think? I’m kinda glad now that I never bought Naked – between this and the upcoming TheBalm nude palette I believe I’ll have some pretty fabulous alternatives!

  • Jayne

I love this, but the name is completely tasteless. In order to use this in front of/on any other people, I would have to cover it up. Yikes. I am alllll over all those taupes, though.

  • Littlecreek

Any clue if this will be in stores? I’m definitely interested, but I want to see it in person…or at least swatches to see what the colors are actually like. For now this goes on my wish list.

    • the Muse

hey littlecreek I’ve never really seen the palettes in store outside of their smaller ones…the larger ones they do I haven’t personally seen at Ulta or Harmons. Not sure though could vary from location to location but in ny I’ve personally never seen them

  • Rita

alot of the eyeshadows look quite similar.. mm.. maybe some are matte some are shimmery?

  • Christina

Out of all the kind of names I associate with make up Butt Naked would be dead last. If I get it I might call it the “other naked” palette :p

This palette is totally up my alley because it doesn’t have pan lip products…just face and eye (<3!). I might wait until it goes on to Cherry Culture with a 20% off coupon.

  • mayrei

I haaaaaate the name. I mean, I can’t imagine saying to a friend, “oh, you have to get the new NYX Butt Naked palette…” :/ Not classy, NYX.

Gotta love all that taupe, though.

  • kiwikiwidragon

I LOVE THE NAME!!! Urban Decay can name products roach and mildew, butt naked is kinda mild, LOL!!! Or Nars and The Multiple, Orgasm, and G-Spot!! Love it all! Never take life too seriously!

    • kiwikiwidragon

Oh yeah, I really like the colors here, not a fan of NYX though, most products are made in China.

    • muthur61

I agree with you Kiwikiwidragon!! Butt Naked is mild in comparison to those other names you mention lol!

  • JenJ

interesting. yea the blushes will not work for me. i like the shadows though.

  • Maria

I LOVE the name and I think I would love the shadows too, but all of those blushes, bronzer and highlighters would just work as highlighters on me. Waaaaay too light for my skin tone. Don’t know if it’s worth the $25 for me.

I’m getting fed up with the tacky names slapped on women’s products, and I”ll bet you dollars to donuts it’s men who came up with this. I mean, nars with his freakish obsession with female pleasure is bad enough but really? Do we HAVE to have makeup that’s (dare I say it?) so tastelessly named? Yeah, it’s probably to draw in the young set who find it adorably daring, but it’s just a crappy rip off of names that have already been used (including the naked palette by NYX itself)

I sound like an old crank, but I’m just getting tired of the innuendo names. Why can’t it just be called what it is – “a damn purty set of taupe shades?” 🙂

There – cranky ol’ lady rant ended. 😛

    • SJG

I don’t think it has anything to do with tackiness or horny men. Everyone is just biting off UD’s Naked because (regardless of the name) it was super successful, and they think people will be dumb enough to mistake their product for the real thing. I find that far more offensive than the name itself. If UD’s palette had been named “Fireman” we’d see a bunch of ones named Firehouse, Flamer, etc etc etc…

I mean there have been nude pantyhose for years…or even worse, “flesh toned” which pretty much tells people of color that they don’t count.

      • Summer

If you want to get technical, Too Faced’s “Naked Eye” Palette launched a season before Urban Decay came out with their “Naked” option. Both Too Faced & Urban Decay are in a different category though and make their shadows in the USA. “Butt Naked” is a horrifying, tasteless name. I admit they are pretty colors, but China shadows tend to irritate my eyes and/or break in the pan anyway 🙁

    • SJ

Hooray, I totally agree kimkats! Whoever comes up with these god-awful names seems intent to associate make-up with sex. Not even in the way that they sorta imply Lynx will get dudes laid in the ads, when there’s nothing sexy about a Lynx deodorant can. The make-up literally names itself after sexual things, without implying that it will get us laid in any advertising… (feminist note: object/subject dichotomy?)
Which is really weird, given that frankly I like my face clean, neat and tidy, and I want my sex…
      … Yeah not like that.

Actually if sex and makeup could be totally kept apart I’d be really quite pleased. SANITATION PEOPLE!

  • Laura

Exactly what I was looking for! I too, haven’t bought the Naked Palette – it was too shimmery for me, and I had some of the colors from other palettes.

Is there anywhere to buy it besides their website? Or any other website??

There are SO may nude/neutral palettes now – it’s crazy!

  • Coral

I saw this palette and fell in love with the colors. Not like I don’t already have enough neutral palettes, but there is always room for one more in my set if I’m really in love with it.
Although the name gets me. Why would that be the best way to go?! Couldn’t they find another play on nude. Oh well. That still won’t stop me from getting it if I really get the itch.

  • NeutraKris

The choice of name turns me off. “Butt Naked”, really? I’m not a prude, but I feel like that wasn’t the best decision….

  • mayrei

I don’t even think it sounds sexual… just kind of trashy. I mean… just say “Butt Naked Eyes” a few times out loud and try not to laugh at how silly it is. I keep hearing it my head with a hillbilly accent for extra amusement.

It’s out of stock right now @ cherryculture.com, but there are having 40% sale of NYX, which ends the 13th, hopefully it will be back in stock before than
