About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. I love the one in plaid! These look great, I’ve had my eye on these for a while, so I may just actually buy it if I see these in the store.

I don’t get how these work for people. I tried the regular line of these and they just wouldn’t apply to my nails. Then when I did eventually get them to some-what stick, the end looked awful. I applied clear polish on top but they chipped within an hour (by then I said “screw this! I’m taking them off’). I was happy I didn’t spend the full amount on these (it was when they first came out; I got them for $6).

I have tried the sephora version but it did not stick at all. I got the silver ones with the white criss-cross pattern, and it looked more like aluminum foil than nail polish.
but these Sally Hansen sets are so cute! I got the butterfly ones from the original line as a gift and i loved the look (and, of course, the compliments).

I love these! they are so great and have so many awesome prints! But I hate when I go to buy some and they are sold out of the certain one I want.

I love these. The application takes a little more time, and your nails have to be completely oil-free (nail polish remover before applying to each nail). Still, I wore them to the beach, and they didn’t start to chip until the end of the 5th day of sand and sea. Awesome.

Ok, I used these on clean natural nails and applied 2 coats of clear on top. I got the champagne color with the black fishnet design.

THEY LASTED 3 WEEKS ON ME!

I by the third week I was cleaning, painting, scrubbing, etc. and the cleaner literally took off a coat of the topcoat but the design stayed. People were still telling me, “wow, your nails look really cool.” I was embarassed because at that point if you looked closely you could see a few minor chips and wearing just on the edge.

I had to soak a cotton ball and hold it on my nail for a long time to get them off. I will say that I did them more quickly than I can paint my own nails but taking them off was a trial.

These are def Majick approved. 🙂

I think I applied & removed similarly to Majick, my first attempt was with the Ghost Halloween strips & I LOVED them! I have 3 1/2 yo twins boys & am on the computer all day for work and they still lasted 8 days – no issues. The only reason i took them off was because it was November 2nd… I cannot wait to locate the Holiday editions!!!

Stacie – I know right? THey last so long that I got tired of the color before they were messed up. I kept them because I do my own nails and it’s such a pain in the cookies. I thought the lasting time for these was unheard of on natural nails.

I just bought the zebra stripe bling ones from Sephora because they match my iphone case. LOL (I found them while waiting in line at teh Sephora VIB event). I hope they work as well as the Sally Hansen.

I bought spider webs for Halloween but it was just such a strange October that it was gone before I could even get them on. Oh well, hopefully if unopened they will work next year. LOL

I love the red plaid but I’m not really a plaid girl. But I think they are so cool. I may do them anyway and just keep dressing in all black and doing the goth thing. ha

      • Stacie

Yeah Majick, so glad there is someone else out there like me. I live in black – grey is my ‘pop’ of color most of the time 😀

I read on another blog (blanking on which one) that you can cut the strips in half to get twice the uses out of a box (as long as the foil case is in tact, they should keep). I haven’t tried this yet since the style i had was more ‘one-way’ but I think it would work quite nicely since most of the styles are reversable (I don’t think that is the word I am looking for but hopefully it conveys ok).

        • Majick

with the fishnet ones I used one decal for two nails because I keep my nails pretty short. I just flipped it around and cut the shape to fit my cuticle area. (hope that made sense. LOL)

          • Stacie

I keep mine short, too. Glad that worked, thanks for the confirmation – I’m def doing that next time!!!

I love these! I am terrible at nail polish and these are great for me, and last a long time. I have alreay used the red plaid ones and loved them.
