Tarina Tarantino Eye Dream Hyperliner Review, Swatches, Photos

With Urban Decay 24/7 Eyeliners holding court in my eyeliner world along with Mally Beauty Eyeliners I really haven’t been on the look out for anything to take their place.

When Tarina Tarantino Eye Dream Hyperliners entered my life I was prepared to play but not to love.

Jump!

Tarina Tarantino Eye Dream Hyperliner are a newly repackaged eyeliner from the brand. Sephora has thirteen shades available for $15 each which is quite a good deal considering they were originally $17 as I have one of the older ones I purchased at that price.

These are comparable to mine or what can be dubbed our most favorite eyeliner of choice, Urban Decay 24/7 Eyeliners. They are soft, smooth, offer an easy glide sans tugging and skipping, and have a nicely pigmented pay off. I dread trying a new eyeliner and finding out how terribly hard it is but no such issues with these, they have a very soft glide and deliver plenty of color with a single stroke. I had no issues with smearing, flaking, or general raccoon woe. On my waterline I can get at least four hours of wear before color disappears, this is fairly good wear since the waterline is such a tough little spot to keep your liner wearing long and strong.

The packaging revamp brings the brand into a more simple level versus the older, girlish packaging which had a princess-y vibe. I actually like both the old and the new packaging so I don’t mind either way. The liners now have a colored tube displaying that of the same shade inside the pencil versus the old packaging which was pink and silver. This new packaging, of course, makes things easier as you can grab what you need and know exactly what color you’re snatching up versus the pink packaging where you needed to uncap to see what was inside or read the label (unless you remember the names of shades, reading the label isn’t entirely convenient).

Shades I tried:

  • Tommy Jet (rich, deep black)
  • Kanzashi (turquoise with silver shimmer)
  • Glamourous Thief (rich sapphire with blue shimmer)
  • Broken Doll (shimmering frosty light pink)
  • Puppeteer (dark brown with bronze shimmer)
  • Cute Robot (metallic deep blue violet)

At $15 per an eyeliner they offer a nice little savings compared to other eyeliners of the same caliber and the same size. The formula proves easy to apply and beautiful to wear.

These ones deserve a Muse Approval.

I highly suggest swatching them your next trip to Sephora.

Likey!

Lots!

Anyone try?

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. Now Musey, you know me….I love me some Tarina!! And if you say that these liners lasted 4 hours on YOUR waterline, then they might last longer than 20 minutes on mine. I can’t even get my UD liners to last longer than that!!
But wait!! I have another question (well, you knew I would). How would you wear the pink one (Broken Doll)?? I mean, I get placing it in the inner corner, but where else?? Can you help me??
Love ya, Musey!!! Have a great weekend!!

I’m not oily so I get around 3 to 4 hours on my waterline with most liners ;-D now the Mally eyeliners those literally last for AGES on my waterline! Those things kick it hard on the waterline girl!

Inner corner is cool but you can totally using it on the bottom lash line with a soft cream shadow for a mod look or with a softer pink shade. It has a more metallic finish so it brightens nicely ;-D Love ya back girl! Have a super weekend but we still have one day together ;-D before the weekend stars.

      So are you lids/eyes oily?

They are terribly oily ~ I layer e/s primers to get the shadows to stick & not fade by 9am (I get up at 3am). And I’ve just resigned myself to the fact that liners don’t last on my waterline, so why bother. Do you think I should try Mally’s liners? Which ones??
Ahhhh one more day together!!!! I really do miss you on the weekends!!

Very pretty! I will definitely swatch Tommy Jet the next time I’m in Sephora. I’m interested to see how it compares to UD 24/7 Zero or Pretentious.

I need to get my hands on Broken Doll!

I wear a lot of pink eyeshadows and it’s so hard finding a decent liner to go with them! Thanks for the heads up 🙂

These are way cooler than I thought they’d be. They sure look creamy.
Speaking of dreams, I just had a bizarre one that I was at Karl Lagerfeld’s house and he wasn’t very nice. I attribute it to your posts about his collections seeing as how I had no prior knowledge about him.

those are so pretty! they *may* switch me back to wearing pencil eyeliner. I usually use liquid since the pencils end up traveling all over the eye area, very racoony.

if i could operate a pencil liner, and wear blue on my eyes, id buy a few of those. those are so pretty!

Might take the re-con on these. I love the Revlon ones from last week, the Grow Luscious ones! I will get the brown and black next trip to walgreens or cvs. Got the green and grey = AWESOME!

Yes I’m commenting on a three year old post! I was just checking out your swatches as these liners, as well as many other Tarina Tarantino cosmetics, are on Hautelook right now. Liners are only $7! I’m partial to Urban Decay’s 24/7 liners but I think these are equally as nice. I’ll be picking up several colors. Thank you for the swatches, Muse. =)
