Here’s a little Up Close and Personal Q&A with Tracy!

Q: How did you know you wanted to get into fashion?
A: I actually had fashion design courses at my high school, Cass Tech, in Detroit! My mother taught me how to sew early on and that really gave me a head start and better understanding of design.

Q: Where does your inspiration come from?
A: I am always inspired by art, decorative art, different foreign cities and my surroundings; I tend to design with a mixture of these inspirations in mind.

Q: What was the first article of clothing you ever designed?
A: A cocktail dress for my Aunt Rose.

Q: How do you define your personal style?
A: Feminine, Comfortable and Quirky-Classic – It expresses my true personality.

Q: Who is your style icon?
A: My mother and grandmother – they both have/had incredible style. My grandmother was a career woman and always dressed for the office in the 40s-70s. She had a lot of great little suits; her hay-day was the glove and hat era, which was very glamorous. For my mom, her perfect style moments were the 70s and 80s and she sewed a lot of great dresses for herself. She loved to dress up to go out with my dad and was always very chic in a swingy jersey dress and glossy makeup.

Q: Whats one item every fashionista must have in her closet
this season?

A: A day-to-dinner dress: As a woman who has to get up and go to work every day, I find it much easier to put on one perfect dress than having to put on three pieces to create a look. Women can accessorize the dress with statement jewelry to quickly convert it from a day dress into a nighttime look!

Q: Whats the best beauty advice youve received?
A: To groom my eyebrows.

Q: What was your first experience with Clinique?
A: When my older sister Leslie turned 14 and started high school, my Mom took us to Hudsons in Detroit to buy Leslie her first makeup. I was so excited for her! I remember she got a pot of lip gloss in the color “raisin,” some blush and a bar of soap that came in a cool green soap dish with a sliding lid.

Q: What are your makeup-bag must-haves?
A: Lipstick in a really juicy shade!

Q: What is your idea of perfect happiness?
A: Spending time with my friends and family.

Q: What talent would you most like to possess?
A: Id love to be able to sing really well!

Is it terrible of me to admit I just want the bags?

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. Sooo sad , I just bought something from Clinique and the gift was just okay… I should have held out for this !

I got this! The first two shades in the eyeshadow palette are a sheerer version of NARS’ Kuala Lumpur. I actually liked everything in the bag, which is rare. But the bags are the real stars of the show. The mini one is just too cute.

This is actually Tracey’s third time (at least) collaborating with Clinique (exclusively at Nordstrom).

I have gotten the last two of her bags and the one from this year as well… and ashamedly only for the bags! The stuff inside is fine. I actually like the lipstick and the eye palette from this year. I caved for the pretty bags though.
