Bare Escentuals Box of Gems Review, Swatches, Photos

Another of my favs this Holiday was the QVC Exclusive, 20 Piece Set from Bare Escentuals, Box of Gems.

I loved this one. The fact that it contained 20 products was a big helping hand here but I also generally loved what was included in the set and felt like it brought together some very nice shades of color.

Take a look!

So what do you get.

Alot.

The Bare Escentuals Box of Gems includes:

10 Bare Escentuals Eye Colors

  • Sparkling (diamond hue)
  • Gleam (pale peach)
  • Glow (golden tan)
  • Jewel (violet)
  • Solitaire (silvertone shade)
  • Gem (emerald shade)
  • Twinkle (chocolate shade)
  • Locket (amethyst shade)
  • Incandescent (topaz hue)
  • Beam (sapphire color)

5 Bare Escentuals Mini Buxom Lip Polishes

  • Kanani (sheer pink)
  • Betty (crimson )
  • Dani (berry pink)
  • Gabby (grape wine)
  • Sandy (pink nude)

5 Bare Escentuals Mini Natural Lip Glosses

  • Sprinkles (diamond)
  • Cranberry Sorbet (cranberry shade)
  • Angel Food Cake (peach shade)
  • Energy Drink (grapefruit shade)
  • Apple Butter (berry shade)

Everything comes in a two tier gold box with a pull out drawer that holds the glosses. The only thing missing here is a mirror, I’d have loved it they included a lovely little mirror in the box.

The shadows are a range of nudes versus more popping shades of color like blues and purples. I honestly can’t say I’ll be using some of the colors like the louder blue on my entire lid but they’ll make nice liner colors. Some of the nude shades are real gems like Twinkle which is a gorgeous naked chocolatey brown with flecks of gold. The glosses are a real star here with a nice selection of shades to choose from!

The entire set is $88 so broken down you’re looking at a $4.40 per item cost.

Overall, I found alot of love in the Box of Gems Collection. It makes a lovely gift choice for BE fans if you have one on your list you haven’t yet gifted. It does seem alot to shell out at one time but breaking things down you can obviously see what a deal it is. Next year, if they do a similar collection I’d love one that included a few more wearable shades as some of the colors here proved a little difficult for me to get on board with. I’m wearing Apple Butter on my lips and Glow on my lids in the below photo. Note: I didn’t go into a great deal of detail with the shadows and glosses since all the products in this set have been reviewed on their own many times on Musings of a Muse, please check the archives should like further details on formula, pigment, etc…!

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. Woo! That IS a box of gems. What a great steal. Thanks for the swatches. They really pop on your skin tone. I have a lot of difficulty wearing those colors, but they look really vibrant on you!

Oh my God, that green “GEM” shade is killing me. I need to get on ebay and see if someone is selling it by itself since there’s no way I can shell out $88 + S&H for the entire set. Even though I agree it’s a great value!

Can’t seem to get on board with loose eyeshadow, but I am a fan of BE glosses. I actually got a mini set last year with two lipsticks/two glosses, and I was a fan. They don’t seem to offer lipsticks in many of their sets, though, which is too bad. I’d buy a set like that again!
