Bare Minerals Ready Eyeshadow 8.0 The Playlist Review, Swatches, Photos

I have alot of favorites this year from the Holiday Collections released but some more than others stand out for me. Bare Minerals Ready Eyeshadow 8.0 is an eight shade palette available in two shades selections for Holiday 2011. I’m already very impressed with Bare Minerals for stepping up their game and entering the pressed shadow realm plus the formula is proving to be amazing as well. The Ready Eyeshadow 8.0 brings even more of that great formula to us.

Let’s take a little look at this palette!

This one is housed in a gold compact that’s ideal for gift giving. I find the packaging elegantly simple and a perfect little present for gift lovers as who doesn’t adore a perfect little eyeshadow selection with a fabulous formula? Although, bit of a warning, the mirrored compact is an absolute magnet for fingerprints, boo, hiss!

Inside is a very generously sized mirror and eight pressed shadow plus a high quality dual sided brush. A moment with the brush….the brush with this set has a traditional shadow brush plus they included the smaller liner style brush on the opposite side. Some may recognize this liner brush from the Smoky Eye Tutorial Kit. I absolutely adore this brush and find it so very helpful for application and smudging out shades.

The palette I got to try out is entitled The Playlist, it’s the warmer of the two shade selections. I so appreciate the fact that BE not only named the palette but also the shades of each shadow as well.

Shades included:

  • Pumped (cocoa sparkle)
  • Chart Topper (pewter silk)
  • Max Volume (smoky jade)
  • Louder (burnished copper)
  • One Hit Wonder (butter chiffon)
  • Most Requested (burgundy sparkle)
  • Remix (burnished gold)
  • Speaker Box (shimmering gunmetal)

I’ve reviewed the Ready Eyeshadows before but a brief recap….

The pressed format on Ready Eyeshadow isn’t loose so it doesnt kick up a ton of dust when you swirl your brush in it nor does it break apart into tiny flaky pieces. These have a smooth, silky feel that translate beautifully from a loose powder into a pressed powder format. The transition from loose to pressed works well and the texture of the shadow remains as silky as a loose powder with fantastic color pay off and an easy to blend formula. I also find these wear very long and blend easily together.

The Playlist contains some very nice shades all of which work together perfectly to create various looks. Below I used the One Hit Wonder and Max Volume to create a look.

Overall, Bare Minerals Ready Eyeshadow 8.0 in the PlayList was another of my favorite palettes this Holiday. The formula is flawless, the color selection is gorgeous, and the palette is visually very beautiful. I hope to see BE doing more of these for perhaps the Spring because as much as I like a good shadow duo a palette featuring eight shades of shadow is even better.

This one gets a big Muse Approval for purchase. But hurry and get it, it’s available for a limited time at www.bareescentuals.com

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. Muse, I love this look on you. I’ve been lemming over this palette since it came out. I’m afraid that I can no longer resist the temptation! Seriously, I think I love this look on you more than anything else you’ve done this holiday season.

I am a dedicated BE eyeshadow girl, but these Ready palettes are so expensive >.< I guess I'll wait until they are available at the outlets.
