Maybelline Color Tattoo 24HR Eyeshadow Collection

Makeup wonders never cease to amaze me. I remember a time…now I’m going to start sounding like my father reminiscing about how he had to walk to school, in the snow, with no shoes on, and the school happened to be a hike from his home town of Arcos (p.s. if you clinked that link, my cousins and I used to swim in that lake as a child! True story!) all the way to Lisboa, but I remember a time when drugstore makeup was something I turned my nose up to. It simply wasn’t something I wished to indulge in here in the US. Granted, outside the US I was more than happy to toss my hard earned money at drugstore fare from Asia, the UK, and Europe but not from brands here in the US because it simply wasn’t a formula I was interested in.

Let’s face it, some drugstore makeup does suck. Agreed?

But times they are a changing and many brands are stepping up their game in a MAJOR way. Take the new Maybelline Color Tattoo 24HR Eyeshadow.

Now this I’ll gladly toss money at!

The Maybelline Color Tattoo 24HR Eyeshadow Collection will be available for Spring 2012 and features 10 shades. The formula promises a long, strong wear time and Maybelline has fit these in under the Eyestudio line, speaking from experience, I really enjoy the Eyestudio products (with a few minor disappointments) so I imagine these will prove great.

No confirmation on price yet but quite a few folks have confirmed seeing them at drugstores and even trying them.

I’ll bring you a review as soon as I can get my grubby hands on ’em.

For now, do comment what you think of ’em!

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. I’ve spotted these “paint pot-esque” lovelies at CVS here (NYC subs) for $7.99 last week they were on bogo 1/2. I snatched up 6 of these and the L’oreal infallables too…felt like I hit the JACKPOT!!

I saw this at my local drugstore and did a quick swatch on my hand with the teal. It was very pigmented and once it dried I couldn’t rub it off. I think they were $9 each at my Rexall here in Canada.

I was in hurry, so I couldn’t test them all (don’t you hate it when it happens and you see something new) and I definitely want to try it on my lids to see it’s true staying power. The colors seem all very shimmery though.

They already have these up in Ontario! I haven’t tried them yet, a lot of the colours seem a bit too warm for my skin tone.

But, Im waiting on your review(if there will be a review?) and if it’s positive I’ll gladly get pomegranate pink and tough as taupe, they look gorgeous!

I found theses at my local Walmart. I got painted purple and it is awesome. I have some paintpots and I liked this better. It lasted a really long time and was less dry than the paintpots I own. The color is a bit sheer but can be built up. It works fantastic as a base and doesn’t crease-I am definitely picking up all the other colors 🙂

I bought the grey one and haven’t tried it yet. It’s next on my list with more tries at the Bouncy Blushes you and I mentioned another post.

I’ll be picking up the fierce & tangy when I see it. Love me a good orange! Hope you had a lovely Chiristmas Muse.

it was gorgeous and oh so quick susan ;-D how was yours? I want the F&T too, that’s so my color!

I grabbed a bunch during BOGO1/2 last week! The asphalt, taupe, purple, teal, and gold. They. Are. Awesome. I rarely am ever so impressed with a drugstore product that I go back to buy more. They absolutely rock. No primer necessary and they wear really well and true. I actually found my finger to be the best application method. I wore the gold on Xmas with Meow Cosmetic’s Santa Honey on top and it was crazy awesome.

I like infallible too….but if I had to pick between them it would be these. I think they were 7.79 or something like that at my stores. Will look for the receipt later.

Yep! Although I’m gonna say I’m disappointed in the purple. Wore it today and it went on pretty patchy and just got patchier as the day wore on. The other colors I have are solid, though. 🙂

The taupe and teal look great!! I feel like I have powder shadows of all these colors so u sure if it’s worth a buy, but maybe one as a base… Lol

I already picked this up in Tough as Taupe & Audacious Asphalt. The Taupe one was a very dark brown-purple and the Asphalt one was almost black with sparkle. Both were way too dark to be used under shadows IMO. As liners they might work well. I had issues with it as a shadow base and returned mine. According to MUA I’m the only one that didn’t like these.

I want to play with these! I have put myself on a strict no buy starting on the 1st… so I better buy now right.

i have to say it…I LOVE THIS PRODUCT! it is amazing! i got pomegranate punk, tough as taupe and bad to the bronze and i am in love! i found mine for $5.99 at target yesterday and i cant wait to get more! I wore bad to the bronze all day today, and it has not budged at all on my lid, and I wore it without a primer 🙂 I always test all my new products primer-free so that i can get an accurate time frame on the wearability! I am honestly thrilled w/ these shadows 🙂 I apply mine w/ a MAC 242 brush, and then blend them out with a 217. I got a lot of compliments on it today, and I am so excited to wear pomegranate punk tomorrow!!! Drugstore makeup has really been rocking my socks lately!! Maybelline also has a Touche something Pen thingy that is like the YSL Touche Eclat. I didnt get a chance to try it today because I am so in love w/ my Loreal Magic Illumi one…but I’m going to force myself to try it tomorrow 🙂

I have Tough as Taupe and Too Cool. Tough as Taupe is divine! I wear it alone and underneath shadow. I never met a taupe look I didn’t like and this one delivers for sure! The Too Cool is glittery, but wearable. It doesn’t look crazy if you use a light touch. Can’t wait to try the Bronze one. Whoop!!

  • Christa

I just saw these at CVS today and picked up Tough As Taupe. I’ll be anxious to give it a go tomorrow. I alway layer cream shadows over Lorac’s primer and most always under a powder shadow, so Fingers crossed I like it! The color is very pretty!

I think you will! I just wore TaT this weekend and it was a very pretty and subtle grey-brown color. Even on my fair skin it didn’t pull too dark or anything. I’m not really sure which colors Mia D picked up since i have both of the ones she mentioned and they aren’t dark at all. TaT has almost no purple, let alone dark plum. And AA is a steely grey with sparkles. How it’s “nearly black” is just in the eye of the beholder I guess. Maybe they were in the wrong spots or something.

Over primer I’ve had no issues, and even on their own they seem fine. With the exception of the purple color. But, the jar has a purple smudge on the side (it was still sealed so no one fudged with it) and it could just be a funky one.
