Maybelline Color Tattoo Gel Cream Eyeshadow

Finally found a display housing the Maybelline Color Tattoo Gel Cream Eyeshadows!

w00t!

I hauled eight shades. They were only $7.39 each which is not bad at all considering the raves I’m hearing about the formula.

Review and swatches on the way.

Thought I had discovered the unknown product, Phy Form has a new Happy Booster lipstick, comes in I <3 Rose and I <3 Nude. Bought the rose shade and it was awful and the smell is sickening. I like the smell in the powders but in this lipstick it is super gross. The design is amazing, layered with a heart shaped core and that is really why I bought it but the color is like Jersey shore pink and fugly. I also got the Revlon Mousse in 020 Shell, it's too dark as usual for my skin and super disco sparkly, holding out for the Maybelline version hoping it will be better and no sparkles….

saw it, need it, have to have it ;-D too bad about the smell! Hope the Maybelline one is better b/c I had the same issues with Revlon, sparkle-fest!

It really is cute but for almost $10 bucks, I think it would have been better as a gloss/lipstick hybrid or a more universally flattering color, then the scent wouldn’t have been so bad. Put the two together and it’s a bad mix for me, can’t deny the effort tho.

I must be the only one that felt the same about the blushes/powders last year. the scent turned me off and on a haul thought the powders were too frosty and the blush was nice but a bit too bright and unnatural. I was excited about the design but in reality it didn’t actually turn into OMG this is brilliant type of makeup for me :-/ so not surprised about the lippie.

I like the blushes, sparingly. Super cute and couldn’t pass up the lippes, sadly they have to go back, love me some CVS return policy.

Oh yeah, maybe I will trade the Revlon in for the Covergirl Tone whatever foundation….

I bought the “Tough as Taupe” at Walmart – found the display hiding on the corner of an end-cap! It’s MATTE!!! Wears well on me and makes a great base for shimmery shadows/pigments for lots of shades!

    • BooBooNinja

I just bought this one too. I haven’t tried it yet and I’m glad to hear good reviews. I hadn’t done a lot of research on this product so I’m glad to hear that Tough as Taupe is great! 🙂

Have you had any creasing issues?

  • Stephanie

I’m so excited to see your review for this! The Ill do a drugstore run XD

Oooh! Oooh! Hurry on the swatches! Christmas money burning holes in pockets!

  • FadBurger

I have 4 of these and they are AMAZING, I know you will love them. They last all day (and more lol) on me even with my hooded, oily lids. I hope they make more neutral colors in the future though~.

  • neutralgirl

I also got Tough as Taupe at Walmart and it is amazing! I’ve been wearing it everyday since I got it as a base. I am also gonna go back and get Bad to the Bronze. The other colors look a bit crazy.

I have like eight I think? Haha…found the display at my CVS and they were BOGO 1/2 off(making each only 6 bucks)…for that price couldn’t resist!! They wear really well so far. I got taupe, green, blue, orange and purple(I love bright colors, lol, but actually even the brights are crazy bright like other brands)…work lovely as liners, and bases. Remind me of my MUFE aqua paints.

    • the Muse

sweet jenn! no bogo here boo 🙁 but still not badly priced at around 7 each! ;D

  • diane

Im curious how these compare to tartes cream pot shadows…I might need some of thesee

  • Sharmin

I am dying to try these out… it looks like a cool concept and I love cream eyeshadows because it is effortless!!!… excited to see the review…:)

  • Wendy

NEED NEED NEED. Arrrggghhh soooo fiending for these! Was this at CVS? Guessing so from the style of the price tag! (dork!)

  • Libby

Just a heads up, dear! The Target in NYC had these for $5.99, just saw them today! Since we’re in the same area, I think they should be for that price so slightly cheaper if you want to buy even more shades 🙂 Waiting on your review before I buy 😀

    • the Muse

cheers thanks libs! I actually scored them after I saw your post at cvs but $5.99=BETTER deal! :-/

  • Audrey H.

Looking forward to your reviews. Though im pinching pennies after Christmas surely I can scrounge the couch cushion for some coin ack! lol

  • Carrie

Picked up Tough as Taupe at work yesterday. We had the display up for days and luckily, I was able to spare some money to buy one and I love it! It doesn’t crease, smudge, anything! A definite keeper, in my opinion.

  • Jen

Did I get a dud? I got the purple, and boy am I disappointed! Mud blends out better than this crap! 🙁
    I am returning asap. 🙁

    • the Muse

it’s the shade, noticed that the ones with a matte/cream finish are kinda sucky Jen but the ones with shimmer are proving nicer.
