Too Faced Tinted Beauty Balm Multi-Benefit Skin Care Makeup Too Faced BB Cream

As I mentioned before BB Creams make a come back for Spring 2012 and one that might gain your attention is the new Too Faced Tinted Beauty Balm Multi-Benefit Skin Care Makeup.

Too Faced BB Cream?

Yup, that’s the story.

Too Faced’s new Beauty Balm is offered in four shades unlike traditional Asian BB Creams which are offered in one or two shades. The formula contains light diffusing pigments to add radiance and blur fine lines and pores. The brand also promises an anti-aging formulation that prevents future skin damage while moisturizing your skin and protecting it with an SPF 20.

Magnesium, Potassium, Zinc as well as Ginseng, Ginko Biloba are also included in the mix with Vitamins A & E as well as chamomile to sooth and nourish skin and an oil free formula keeps things smooth and creamy without being greasy or oily.

So far BB Creams in the US have failed to excited me but I’m quite curious what Too Faced has up their sleeves with this one.

What do you think?

Put it on my wish list along with all the other bits from this collection. I am also scoping the xmas gift sets Imomoko has in Skin79. One I bought a few weeks ago that introduced me to The oriental and a Diamond set that includes a lip gloss sample, sweet!

the oriental is a fav of mine jenn ;-D the gold label they introduced is lovely 🙂 dear rose wasn’t for me sadly, way too pale 🙁 I have to swatch/review it…been on the back burner too long hehe!

I would love to see it, i have been debating buying that one but the 35.00 commitment is making me hesitate, even tho, I have liked all of their bb creams and haven’t found a huge difference in between them, other than the glowey ones.

        • the Muse

I normally love their BB creams too but Dear Rose was super super fair. I’ll try to get review/swatch up for ya soon, sorry should have been up already just been NUTZ ;D

count my intrigued. I like too faced, but their primer made me itch so uncomfortably due to the silicons in it. This doesn’t seem to have silicons since it’s water based and it has a lot of beneficial ingredients… zinc and lysine are good for inflammation! I wanna get it for my birthday this weekend but I still have tubes of asian bb cream left…

    • Sara

There are definitely silicones in this bad boy. In fact they started at the second ingredient (Cyclopentasiloxane) and continue on quite a bit throughout the listing with two dimethicones and another cyclohexasiloxane.

So…yeah, despite water being the first ingredient, this thing is *loaded* with silicones. Frankly, so are Asian BB creams so if you have a problem with Too Faced’s primer and not the Asian BBs then I’d start looking at the rest of the list as to what could be bothering your skin.

cyclopentasiloxane and cyclohesasiloxane are both water soluble and basically dissapear once it dries so it blends better on your skin. dimethicone should be your only worry. hope that helps

        • Sara

I haven’t actually read anything that suggests silicones are water soluble. There is a lot of mention of being barriers to protect the skin, or even being volatile to push other ingredients in to the skin, but everything suggests they repel water.

I actually have purchased straight cyclomethicone (from here: http://www.thesage.com/catalog/products/Cyclomethicone.html they use the terms cyclomethicone and cyclopentasiloxane interchangeably) and it’s anything but lightweight and never “disappeared” in my skin. Which was unfortunate as its purpose was initially to be a “carrier oil” for perfume concentrates. However it’s obvious from the get-go that my experience with them is in the minority. I’ve only come across a few other people with sensitivities to silicones. The majority of the population seems to never have an issue.

I’m always open to reading more about silicones as I find loads of misinformation (like using the term “silicon” or “silica” instead of “silicone” as if they are the same substance) in forums and blogs. If you have some places you reference would you mind sharing them?

Curious. Like the color range. Has to be better than Boscia. I liked Clinique for the summer, but I get kinda tan, and it was way too dry for winter. I’ll wait for your review 😀

  • Regina

I have Smashbox’s BB cream and dark is a tad too dark for me…interesting in checking this out as I love their primers

  • Laura

Too Faced makes my HG primer – so I’ll grab this as soon as I run out!

    I’m super geeked

  • Kelly

I’ll have to wait for some reviews, sure is nice to see some U.S. brands showing up though!

  • Audris

I’d be keen to read reviews of this! I wonder how they differ from the Korean BBs.

  • Melissa

I’m intrigued, it is on my wishlist 😀 It sounds like it may be “sparkly,” though? If that’s the case it won’t fare well with my oily skin…

Mine came in the mail yesterday and I love it so far. I mainly purchased it for the SPF. It applies easily and gives my skin a more even appearance. It isn’t greasy or too thick. Too Faced is my favorite brand because I have very sensitive skin and their products never irritate my skin. I wouldn’t buy this planning on using it as a foundation unless you are going for an actual no-makeup look. This doesn’t have the coverage of foundation at all. I would say coverage wise that it has a little less than thebalm’s balm shelter tinted moisturizer. I think it is definitely worth buying.
