Bobbi Brown Neons and Nudes Blush Nude Pink, Nude Peach Review, Swatches, Photos

Off topic story of the day…

My mum is in her mid 60’s and volunteers weekly at a church flea market thingy. Most of the ladies she volunteers with are in their 70-80’s but my mum still has a way with making friends with anyone and everyone no matter the age gap.

To make a long story short one lady she befriended is an 87 years old woman who recently had issues with her TV. So my mum of course volunteered to give her a TV she had hanging out in the basement. That’s my mum, she’ll give you the shirt off her back in a winter storm.

Problem? My mum doesn’t drive so she of course enlists me or my sister to do all her heavy lifting. I didn’t have time to drop the TV off needless to say. One night I had my mum in the car with me after I had taken her to Trader Joe and we passed her friend’s house. I turned to my mother and said “oh crap I forgot we had to drop that TV off to your friend!” she replied it wasn’t a problem at all but I still felt bad and told her, “Gosh what does she do without a TV? No news? What if the zombie plague hits?”

My mom, dead pan, turns to me and says, “What she doesn’t know won’t hurt her!”

I dunno but it cracked me up so hard. A dear little old lady, no TV, no way to watch the news, a possible outbreak of the plague, zombies wandering around her neighborhood and she doesn’t know it’s happening!

I seriously need to get that TV to her.

I’d feel bad if zombies ate her brains because of my negligence.

Anyway….utterly off topic but I hope it made you laugh as much as I did when my mom so seriously turned to me and said that!

Zombies, old ladies, and crazy as hell mothers aside how about a little look at some of the new shades of blush released with the Bobbi Brown Neons and Nudes Spring 2012 Collection.

Yay?

Jump!

Neons are HOT for the season but that doesn’t necessarily mean I can pull them off. I can’t do neon orange sadly or bright pinks, etc..I look like a clown when I try.

Those of you that can rock it, well, I’m jealous.

I think the good news is Bobbi took the trend and owned it by creating sheer shades for eyes and face and combined it with vibrant shades for lips. It does tone thing down considerably and makes the trend way easier to swallow for some of us.

If you’re wanting to indulge in bright shades of neon on lips you might want to keep things simple on cheeks. Two new, limited edition shades of blush from Bobbi Brown in Nude Pink and Nude Peach might just be on your list for a tame, subtle way to add a gentle flush to cheeks!

These are very sheer so if you’re fair of skin you might want to indulge since they’ll work best on such a skin type. I can get decent color pay off if I build color up and they happen to work great for me since I’m heavy handed. Shades are really delicate so just a touch of color is left behind. Darker skin types need not apply here as they won’t show up.

The joy of the blushes is the fact they work perfectly with the bright shades of lipstick Bobbi has available with her Neons and Nudes Collection. If you’re going to sport a vibrant lippie you definitely don’t want a loud blush to go along with it.

Nude Pink and Nude Peach are available for a limited time at Bobbi Brown or online at www.bobbibrowncosmetics.com

Are you lemming anything from the Neons and Nudes Collection?

Your mom is so freakin’ awesome! Can you imagine that the zombie plague does it and then she see one of her friends on her door step trying to get in and nom her brains?? She would open the door and sweetly ask the zombie in, and then it would lunge at her, the jaw would almost unhinge itself trying to take a bite! she would then thwart it by taking one of her doiles off of the arm of the flowered sofa and cover their rotted face with it. She would then use her walker with the neon yellow tennis balls on the front legs to shuffle her way into the kitchen where she keeps the shotgun by her old refridgerator. she grabbed the shotgun, turned and braced it against her shoulder and fired!

damn ruth…you took that to a brand new freaking level girl! LMAOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! lol I left out the part where my mom said, “you use the zombie apocalypse excuse for everything…” haha!

      • Ruth

i can’t help myself! the zombie apocolypse could happen! using that example (not excuse) keeps the possibly of it happening fresh and in the forefront of your mind.

Cute story about your mom, she sounds like mine! Are these blushes LE? I really like the pink one. Any dupes that you know of?

Thanks for posting these, Muse! I’ve been eyeing the ‘neon’ lipcolors- I’m very tempted to try Bobbi’s ‘Atomic Orange’ lipstick- I’ll chime in my own second notion for swatches / a request for a finger in the right direction to find swatches of this if anyone knows of any that have been posted. Neon being paired with pastels is definitely looking like it’s going to be big this spring. Have you gals seen the latest Laura Mercier ‘Exclusive Colour Collection’ at Sephora- swoon! It includes a ‘Coral Diamond Lip Glacé ‘ that I’m also curious about. And, also, on Sephora, the Bite line is coming out with a ‘Summer Vintage Trio’ that includes both a nude lipstick and a coral matte lip pencil that I”m also very intrigued by. If anyone has heard anything about of any of these, please do share! Loved your zombie story, too, btw!

OMG, that is so sweet of your mom, Muse. And girl, I have been missing you so much, checking in almost every day to see if you were back –I guess you were enjoying the holidays. That pink swatches way more neon on the skin that in the pan. Since I’m really pale, I think that has my name on it. Welcome back, hon!

These look similar to the colors I got in the QVC AD last year. I really like BB blushes and that little blush brush that came with them is really great.

I saw the peach blush in the store tonight. Nice color but I didn’t buy it. Seeing your swatch makes me wish I’d at least tried it on… though I’m NC40 and it may not have shown up on me.
