E.L.F. Studio Lip Balm Review, Swatches, Photos

Do you find that the E.L.F. Studio Collection proves better than the original collection? I like to think so. Most everything I’ve purchased from the Studio Collection has been fairly good but anything I’ve gotten from their original collection is kinda a miss.

E.L.F. Studio Lip Balm is currently on my hit list.

I like it and I think you will too!

I admit I didn’t like these little balms at first. I was a bit meh. Coming out of an experience with Revlon Lip Butters you start measuring every single balm you try against those and let’s face it, that’s a bit unfair eh?

But after using one for a few days I gotta say, I like ’em. I only have the one shade but I quickly logged onto E.L.F. and gathered up the other shades I didn’t have as hey, for three bucks you can’t beat it!

These are essentially a lip balm so if you felt like Revlon’s Lip Butters were a bit too much and just wanted to head back to simplicity this brings that formula to the table. They have a soft glide across my lips with a balm-y texture that hydrates nicely but doesn’t leave lips slick or shiny. I think the joy of the formula is although they are a balm they have a very lightweight, virtually weightless finish that wears comfortably throughout the day without peeling off or looking gross after an hour or two, you know what I mean right?

I do wish they offered a bit more moisture in some aspects but I don’t necessarily mind as they keep my lips feeling and looking soft. The color payoff is quite good and builds easily for more pop. The shade I tried, Rose, was a bitten rosy red shade that looked rather pretty on. I think some of the other shades have the potential for an MLBB (my lips but better) experience.

The packaging is fairly nice as well. Simple black square tube with a swivel up design. The balm swivels up and down without any issue. Nothing worst than getting a lip product that swivels up but refuses to swivel back down.

Overall, I really have no complaints here. The weightless formula, the tinge of color, SPF 15, and the very affordable price tag puts these in my Muse Approval book.

Pick one or two up, I think you’ll like them as much as I did.

Oooooh. But of course I just read that Made in China stuff is required to be tested on animals… so I probably should stop buying e.l.f. in spite of the fact that, yes, the studio line is nice quality for a bargain!

I heard that it’s just things that are sold in china, not made in china.

You have a point, I’ll have to see if the little bunny is on e.l.f. stuff 🙂

e.l.f. is indeed cruelty-free and most of their products are vegan-friendly. if you go to their website (eyeslipsface.com) and scroll to the bottom, you will see that they are PETA certified and they have the cruelty-free bunny logo.

I’ll have to check this out. My local Wally World is now stocking e.l.f.’s full line. I picked up the Studio Matte lipcolor in Tea Rose the other day and have been all kinds of impressed for a $3 dollar lippie. Not drying at all, color is really pretty and well pigmented for a color like this. And, of course there is that 3 dollar price.
I’m off in a minute to check out web site to see how many colors of balm there are.
