Hi There!

hai

Hey there!

Sorry for the lack of posts, I’ll be redeeming that shortly.  It’s my busiest time at my office so Musings has been suffering a bit because of it.  Apologies!  I’ll have some new posts up shortly and reviews are upcoming as well.

How was your weekend?

Any snow?

We got about six inches here.  Wahoo!

The good news is it allowed me to catch with Walking Dead on Friday, OMG Sophia! I can’t believe they spent 7 episodes looking for her and she was under their noses! Rick is sure to go emo after this. Odd turn of events as the graphic novel Sophia is alive and kicking but I like the twist of turning her into a walker!

P.S. Happy Lunar Year! May the year of the dragon bring you success, happiness, and health!

I thought that she would be a walker but her mother would try and convice the group that she wasn’t really as bad as the rest. the mother would then try to take care of Sophia in her walker state as if she were still the daughter that she remembered.
Mom-”Sophie! You’re back! come here my baby!” runs to sophie.
sophie lurches to mom, jaws wide open, blackened tongue visable. they reach each other, mom’s arms are wide open to embrace daughter and…
Sophie then proceed to nom on mom’s face and Rick pulls out his six shooter and does what he has to do.

I thought that she was becoming more of a romantic interest for Daryl. He was courting her in his own way by trying to find Sophia for her.

They are def making this somewhat diff that the novels, shane is dead, killed twice. In the show, they’re giving him a downward sprial, so I don’t think that he’ll be around too much longer. I just finished the 4th TP, Rick and Tyrese just tried to kill each other and the crazy lady with two armless zombies just showed up to wreak havock with the group. Both forms of “The Walking Dead” are so riveting, I can’t wait to find out what happens next.

you think!??! It’s possible considering Andrea and Dale hook up in the novels! why not Daryl and Carol? I thought it was more of a motherly figure for him didn’t get the romance aspect.

I THINK shane has a good chance of going forward, he’s interesting but yes his story is very much different, his whole outlook is different as well as he was a firm believer in fighting in the novels and not giving up hope. The novels are completely addicting ;-D I’m pretty much done including the Governor’s stand alone novel. Don’t miss that, it’s a good read!

I didn’t get the mother thing, so now we both have new perspectives on viewing their relationship. Maybe it’s a combo of both, like an Oedipus complex.

but I really think that Shane is going around the bend with Lori and the pregnancy, could be his, but maybe not. Don’t forget leaving Earl to die when they were off gathering supplies.
At first he was in charge and then Rick showed up and now he’s second banana. He doesn’t have Lori and her son, he lined Rick up in his cross hairs when they were out hunting, but was only stopped by Dale. I just wonder what other hot mess he’s going to get himself into.

I’ve been stalking bookdepository.com since I have book 7 but missing book 6. it’s hard not to hit “buy now” when i have so many other books and comics to read first. My will is weak!

          • 1/23/12 15:04 the Muse:

otis ;-D not earl haha! But yes, shane is def off the deep end but I think that’s what adds detail to his character in the telly series versus the novels :) I think they are both leaders in their own way but with two seperate ways of seeing things. Rick has alot of hope and they made Shane the one that needs to be level headed and a survivor. We naturally are moved by Rick and have those awwww he’s such a hero moment but Shane makes some very valid choices as well. Shane’s a survivor and sometimes I wonder if the plague hit if I wanted to be on Team Rick or Team Shane. Hope and all that is great but Shane survives…I wanna survive if there’s a zombie after my azz ;-D haha! I like he’s evolved in the tv series, damn shame what happened to him in the novels, I dig this new shane.

You should have both the first Compendium they did, it’s 1-48…makes life easier for a new reader. I was considering getting rid of my back issues and just purchasing the all in one Compendiums should I want to reread in the future ;-D

and yeah you could be right perhaps motherly and maybe a bit sexual as well!

Funny, we only got about 3 inches here in Central NJ–I am SOOOOO hoping for a mild winter this year as I hate snow and all the fuss of cleaning it up! I’m not a SciFi fan but over the weekend I was trolling ACW and putting together a fantasy list for my next order. They had some Bobbi Brown stuff that looked really good but I know their stock is old for the most part. That doesn’t bother me too much but their prices should reflect it better.

I found another website called beautycrunch that has a lot of Stila and other brands, also I placed a small order from Avon. So I had a great makeup weekend, LOL. :)

Snow, no…thunderstorms and hail, yes. Ah Missouri, you just never know what you are going to get with the weather. Can’t complain too much though, it’s been unseasonably warm with temps in the upper 40′s and 50′s. Hope work doesn’t bog you down too much and you have a great week!

gah! the thread was too long and I couldn’t reply! I was thinking about getting the compendium’s but they’re too big! I can’t put them in my purse and be on my way like I can with the trades. I’ve been getting them at the Baltimore comic con in the nick and dent sections and I’m trying not to get any more to read since I have soooo much! I’m trying to hold out and collect them at this year’s con, but that isn’t until Sept.

Thanks for the name correct, he just reminded me of an “earl” and I’m rather horrible with names! I do like the TV version of Shane as well, and he is a survivor, but I think that his survival instinct has taken over his rational side. If the zombie virus hadn’t decimated the government and systems as we know it, I don’t think that he would have even thought about trying to kill his best friend. If he and Rick could figure out how to lead together, they would be able to offer the best of them both. Rick could offer hope and the hero moments and Shane would be the anti-hero. He would do the stuff that needs to be done for the continued survival of the group.

If there was a real zombie outbreak, this girl would be on the side of survival, but I’d want hope too that I’d be able to make it or if I was infected, my friends would ensure that I wouldn’t come back and try to nom on their brains like a dorito!

that’s true and in some ways you’re prob right as I normally read comics on the train/etc…;-D! So carrying around a huge ass compendium is absurd hahaha…! Ebay is a good place to get old copies for considerably less or used book auctions online. I feel like I collect to many comics/novels and I end up running out of space for it all. I also don’t love reading them on my nook, prefer the book so I can’t even save space by buying them on kindle/nook. (actually Kindle doesn’t even have a e-copy available) .

Oh no worries, he did kinda remind me of an earl too, country bumpkin type thing ;-D I wonder if they’ll leave Lori’s fate up to the novels (her killing ends up the same way?) or if somehow Shane might kill her in some oddball jealous rage…! That would be kinda interestingly cool ;-D! Gawd, I sound violent lol!

amen sis, promise if the zombie plague hits and you become one of the living dead I’ll shoot you in the forehead, promise you’ll do the same for me k? :D!

well, if you want to haul that large ass book around, it’ll give you some toned arms to show off this summer. I try to keep the comic collection to a low roar since I collect so many books. I’m usually pretty down the girl heroes, Dazzler, Wonder Woman and Buffy. I have some others but that is my main collection.

And STFD! Lori dies?!? GET OUT!! If Shane kills her in a rage, the baby has to be further along so he can cut it out so one of them would make it. heh, talk about violent! and pretty gory too!

oh, and when you shoot me in the forehead, you can has all my pretty makeups, ‘kay? and chucks.

lol true! I used to be an avid collector but I had an intervention with myself. I really needed to stop. ;-D My house would be held up by books if I continued! Mmmm I’m not much for female leads/heroes to be honest but I can be convinced on occasion.

Sorry, I forgot how towards the begining you are :( yup, it’s not a zombie death thankfully lol. And naa shane isn’t involved but would be cool if she was ;D yay thank ye and likewise lol!
