MAC Mineralize Charged Water Moisture Eye Cream Review

MAC Mineralize Charged Water Moisture Eye Cream why you so fabulous? MAC has a new eye cream on the block that was introduced with their new Mineralize Collection and I think it deserves a little Muse Approval.

The fabulous thing about MAC Mineralize Charged Water Moisture Eye Cream is the fact that both younger and older eyes can benefit from the formula.

This eye cream is infused with our MAC’s Charged Water technology and adds moisture as well as aids in reducing the appearance of dark circles, lines, and puffiness. Can’t speak for the dark circles and fine lines but it does fairly ok with my puffiness. Nothing dramatic mind you but a few minutes after use the product does deflate my baggage a bit and gives my eyes back some of their perk.

The joy of the product is it’s never too rich or too crazy so both younger and older eyes can take advantage. It’s gentle enough to effectively moisturize your eyes but not rich enough to cause milia.

The formula is almost gel-like in consistency and runs thick but it absorbs super easily and leaves behind plenty of moisture to ease dryness, erase finer lines due to dryness, and prep skin for concealer. It wears well under makeup and works nicely to moisturize eyes overnight.

At $35 it’s also highly affordable and a single pot will last you for a good long while.

Overall, this one is a solid eye cream. If you’re bit older and have a need for a daily eye cream that absorbs easily, hydrates, and wears well under makeup this is a solid choice. Of course, I’d recommend something a little stronger for evening use. For younger eyes this works well for both AM and PM to hydrate and ease the way for concealer while preventing future aging issues.

I like this one. I’ll pick it up again when I run out. I don’t use it in the PM but its the perfect pick for AM use.

fine lines, dryness, crows feet. I commonly associate dryness with older eyes but sometimes younger eyes also experience it.

I agree, I’ve got that problem from the age of 25, despite the fact I look younger than my actual age…

Hmmm….this sounds intriguing. I shall give it a look-see next time I’m at the MAC counter! Thanks for the heads up, Muse! 🙂

Oh no, I was hoping you’d get milia from it so I wouldn’t have to go buy it, LOL! Just kidding, I’d never wish milia on you, Muse <3

outstanding! Been hoping this would be a rockin’ product – I need a nice eye cream for under the old peepers during the day! Sounds like this has “gottagit” writ large on it!

Thanks a million Muse! It goes on the list…. 😀

    Hi muse!

I was really waiting for a review of this product from you before I buy it. But I was thinking of using it as a night eye cream. If you think this more of a day cream, what can u suggest to use as a night cream in the same price range?

    Thanks!!!

    • the Muse

i can’t really suggest an eye cream without knowing your age, your skin type, what you are looking for in an eye cream, etc…different ages, types of issues, etc…require different eye creams Vic. I mentioned in the review I think older eyes will benefit from it most in the day but not the evening but I have no idea if you are younger or older?! so it’s kinda hard to recommend a random eye cream without knowing your situation hun

    Hi muse!

I’m sorry I’m new to this whole thing so I forgot to give my age. But I’m 24 and a total newbie to make ups, skin care, etc. I know, where have I been right? I just didn’t really paid much attention to my appearance before. Lol. I’m half Asian, half Spanish. I would say my skin’s warm beige. At this age, I dont think I need a strong one, but because I use eye concealer I wanna take care of my under eye area.

    What do u think?
    Thanks a lot!
And I love your blog btw.

we all have to start somewhere 🙂 hehe! you’re fine for using this under your eyes for both AM/PM use since you’re younger and this hydrates nicely, absorbs easily, and isn’t to rich! 🙂

Aw thanks that’s a great compliment and means so much to me 🙂

Hi Muse! Just stumbled onto your blog and love it! Wondering if you have some advice for me. I have a billion questions, but right now I’ll just stick to the under eye area. I’m Indian and tan/olive complexion. I’m 31 and have hereditary dark under eyes. I haven’t really used any eye creams, but I REALLLLY need to include that in my daily routine now! I have fine lines and major dryness these days under my eyes. I’ve been using Clinique All about eyes concealer but nowadays with powder on top of that my skin is looking SO grainy and cakey. Yuck! And the blackness underneath is really showing thru. I’ve also had Restylane injected a month ago to correct my under eye hollowness. For some reason, though, my under eye skin is darker now! So hard to cover it up! Can you give me advice on 1) good daily eye care regimen/routine and 2) awesome concealer …please?! THANKS SO MUCH! 🙂

hi frk, eye creams are really a personal purchase and it takes a bit of a hit and miss to get the exact right one down for your issues/problems. I personally like, at the moment, Philosophy Miracle Worker Eye Cream, it’s rich enough to hydrate my under eye area without making my eyes look hooded and for daily use I like Super Bright Eyed (I reviewed this before, you can search the archives).

Right now I really love It Cosmetics Concealer. It’s SUPER pigmented. It might just be the thing for your really dark circles! I also reviewed it recently.

But like I said, concealers and moisturizers are really a personal thing. I find I had to sort through a ton of different products before finding just the right products that worked for my issues/problems.

My under eye skin (and other parts of my face) took a beating last week b/c I decided to introduce retinol into my daily routine since there’s so much talk about the benefits of retinol and anti-aging. I tried Roc retinol correxion eye cream and Roc multi-correxion night treatment. I used them every night for a week or so and took 2 days off and oh MAN my skin looked so bad. Dry patches, redness, stinging/burning around my eyes, etc. I’m still healing from it. My under eye area looks SO bad with makeup!
    Do/have you use retinol creams?

    • the Muse

aw I’m very sorry to hear FRK. I use the entire Miracle Worker collection. It’s Philosophy version of a Retinoid but supposedly gentler than would you’d get from a derm. I use the pads (AM and PM version), the brightener, the night cream, and the eye cream. It’s pretty much been my regime since the introduced the pads. I have dry skin and I’m not sensitive and all the products seem to be doing well for me! maybe you should lay off all skincare until things settle down! you don’t want to add anything new into your regime when your skin is on freak out mode!

      • FRK

Ya, my skin wasn’t even bad before all this! Just wanted to start retinol b/c prevention is always better than the cure, right???? Oh well. I’m definitely not going to try anything new for a while now. Maybe just a good eye cream after my under eye area has healed (which it almost has). I put Aquaphor on all the dry and burnt patchces and it’s worked really well thankfully!

        • the Muse

aw sorry! skin care is a b*tch to get down. It takes a little patience and trail and error to get the perfect regime down. I also highly suggest/recommend Lush. They have some great products!

          Good Luck!

I suffer from dark circles under my eyes and wondered if you thought this product would help?

I know I’m a guy, but don’t really get how products like these can be limited by gender.

    😀

    Cheers,

    Nick
