Maybelline Dream Lumi Touch Concealer Review, Swatches, Photos

Maybelline has a new click pen concealer out entitled Dream Lumi Touch.

Sigh…

I was thinking how much I missed Dream Mousse Concealer, truly an HG concealer (holy grail) if ever I did see one. You know, how cool would it be if Maybelline did a concealer in a similar format as their new Dream Bouncy Blushes? You gotta admit that would be truly outrageous right?

I was hoping Dream Lumi might be a replacement for Dream Mousse Concealer but in a click pen!

Let’s take a look!

Naa, def not a replacement for Dream Mousse. I guess I was just hopeful that since Dream Mousse Concealer was such a hit with me that Dream Lumi Touch Concealer would be too.

Nothing wrong at all with the formula here but I like my concealers on the thicker side and this is a little thinner.

This comes in a click pen so you can click and proceed to brush product on and blend out with fingers. One thing I noticed with these is the fact that the colors run very, very light. I purchased Ivory and Nude and both were too pale for me. So just keep that in mind prior to a purchase.

(Swatches Left to Right: Nude and Ivory)

The formula is moisturizing, quite pigmented to conceal dark circles, etc…and blends out easily. The only issue I had with the formula was it was a bit thinner and runnier which I’m not particularly keen on, I prefer cream concealers with a thicker texture. Wear time will vary but for me I could get 5 hours out of this before I saw minor fading but you can easily get through at least an 8 hour day without a touch up if you prep well prior to application.

I didn’t have any issues with creasing or caking and the formula didn’t dry my eyes out which are already dry as is. So this didn’t add anything to the existing problem which leads me to believe that this will work perfectly fine on drier eyes.

Overall, if you like click style concealers and are looking for one on the cheap this might appeal. It’ll set you back $7.99 and comes in six shades. Just be careful when selecting your shade as they run quite light in my humblest. This one didn’t make much of an impression on me for some reason. I’m a concealer junkie and I just didn’t feel like there was anything special here to get excited about. Perhaps if I get the correct color for my tone I might be more inclined to rave it a little more but I just felt like it was too runny for my tastes.

Maybelline Dream Lumi Touch Concealer is available now at drugstores.

Tried it?

A bouncy concealer would be awesome lol. How are you liking the blushes? They finally popped up at the stores down here, I bought 7 of em lol! Liking them a lot so far 🙂

I like them!!!!!! but the wear time stinks and some of the colors are so sheer 🙁 damn straight a concealer would be brilliant in that texture/formula right?!

Definitely, Have you heard of Mallys effortless blush and hilighter duo? They have the same spongy texture as the bouncy blushes, but with more pigment 🙂

I came through the end of my Dream Mousse last year sometime and somehow found one more to tide me over at a CVS in the middle of nowhere (I’m not going to think about how long it’s been sitting there – no dust and placed with the blushes, no less). I’m hoarding it like my life depends on it – but until they come out with a better replacement, I’m laying on the Hard Candy Glamoflauge and Mousse Foundation by Maybelline – surprisingly opaque, though not as good as the concealer. Le sigh.

Sigh…..I returned my bouncy blushes to CVS, I smooshed that damn blush around and around til it was a pile in the container, no luck…I couldn’t get it to get on an applicator much less my face. The consistency was really cool, kinda like clay but aside from pinching off a small blob, nothing worked for me. I did buy all the pink satin in the Dream Mousse when they went on clearance, most were only a buck or two.

I bought this in Radiant, which is a peach toned version. It has been doing a good job of correcting my under eye circles. I don’t think it will reach HG status necessarily, but I like it better than the Bobbi Brown corrector I have. I am happy that drugstore brands are starting to figure out the need for peach concealers.

I’m really loving on revlon photoready concealer right now. It seems to work better for me than Benefit concealers. Five hours isn’t bad tho.

I swatched this a bit ago in Target and the pen reminded me of my beloved YSL touche eclait (which I haven’t been able to justify re-purchasing since it’s $75 here) and it does remind me of it but with a more concealing effect. The brush on the dream lumi is so scratchy!

I ended up just going to ebay and buying replacement Dream Mousse concealers on there; I’m at a concealer crossroads and until I find another amazing one, I’ll keep buying mine from ebay.

I’ve bought this, the Magic Lumi & Visible lift (& I’m broke lol). Out of all 3 Visible lift wins. It’s the most opaque. This is a very close second for me though. The only issue I have more so with this vs Visible lift is that this can kinda get cakey (for me- I have this issue with face products though). But the lightest color was wonderful as a highlighter for under my eyes and I’m pretty pale (RevlonCS-180sand is slightly too dark for me). So this concealer would work for really pale women out there 🙂
