Physicians Formula Happy Booster Glow & Mood Boosting Bronzer & Blush Review, Swatches, Photos
Got an ear worm…! Be running up that hill…love the emo Ten video don’t you? Kills my childhood though as I grew up with Tom Baker and he was far from the emo mush that Ten was and not nearly as silly as 11. Plus it ruins the geek/sci-fi factor of it all, gag! But hey ear worm…! For serious!
Anyway…!
Physicians Formula has released brand new bits and bobs to their Happy Booster Collection including a new Bronzer & Blusher. I find bronzer every so easier to wear when I can top it my mix in a little blush or use it over a cheek stain.
The new Physicians Formula Happy Booster Glow & Mood Boosting Bronzer & Blush features a core bronzer that dominates the powder and sweetly colored graduating hearts as the blush part.
Take a peek!
This is a pretty sheer bronzer so it does prove completely easy to use. The shade is a golden shade of tan bronzer with a little subtle hint of gold shimmer, nothing dramatic but simply a golden glow. The powder is dominated by the bronzer shade and towards the right hand side you’ll find three intertwining hearts that graduate in color from pale baby pink to berry rose and finally a deeper shade of berry pink.
The powder is cute to say the least. I like the packaging and I love the hearts. It’s just really pretty and girlish. This has a dual compartment so the powder is housed on top and a stealthy little well on the bottom holds a brush and a full size mirror. The brush is a bit useless as it sheds a fair bit and has scratchy bristles but at the very least it is there if you’d like to travel with the powder.
I think the formula is a little disappointing in terms of pigment. The bronzer is fairly sheer and the blusher proves equally subtle. I find the best application technique is to swirl in all the shades and dust onto cheeks but you can easily apply the bronzer first and swipe your brush over the blush portion of the powder and apply it after the bronzer. The effect is a soft golden bronze with a touch of pink.
I do think the benefit of the sheerer formula is the fact that you can’t over do the bronzer. I’m pretty heavy handed and bronzer can go terribly wrong for me plus I don’t generally like bronzer and this makes it rather easy to get a sunkissed glow without looking to Snooki-ish while doing it. Last year they released a similiar product but the main difference this year is they added considerably more rose/pink to the mix versus the single pink heart in last year’s bronzer.
This is available in two shades selections the one I swatched below is Bronze/Rose.
Probably wouldn’t recommend a purchase unless you’re a lover of bronzing and bronzer powders. I probably wouldn’t buy it again if I ran out but the formula is decent enough particularly if you want something light and nothing too dramatic in terms of how dark you want to go plus the rosy shades of pink in the mix helps makes the bronzer part of the powder very easy to wear!
