Physicians Formula Youthful Wear Cosmeceutical Youth Boosting Mattifying Face Powder Review, Swatches, Photos
Well slap me happy! I’m super pleased with the new Physicians Formula Youthful Wear Cosmeceutical Youth Boosting Powder (say that three times fast). This isn’t a surprise considering the long term loving relationship I have with their pressed mosaic powder!
Take a look!
Physicians Formula Youthful Wear Collection is a new range of assorted base products including concealer and cream foundation to shave 10 years off your face or at least that’s the promise. 10 Years, instantly…or so the box says. Dunno if I’m looking that good after use but I will say it’s my HG (holy grail) powder of choice at the moment.
I love this stuff.
The powder has a scent and it took me a hot second to figure out what that fragrance was and I’ve finally come to realize it reminds me of my beloved Lush Snowcake! Those sensitive to fragrance in their facial powders just a note, the scent is subtle but it is there.
This comes in the traditional Physicians Formula packaging in a new purple casing with the powder on top and a mirror and small well for the brush on the bottom. Oh the brush…did I tell you about the brilliant brush? I think maybe the brush is what really makes the powder pretty special. It’s not really a brush I guess but merely a short bristled pick of sorts. Anytime I use it I feel like I’m shaving my face ha…but somehow, someway the brush really works a treat at smoothing the powder on and giving a perfectly flawless airbrushed appearance. I also felt like the brush didn’t pile product on so you aren’t left with a ton of powder but just a simple enough dusting that evens out skin tone, mattifies skin, and creates a near perfect canvas for makeup.
The powder is transparent but it still has a knack for working great as a base product of sorts. On bare skin it perfects the area, evens out skin tone, and creates a nice working canvas for color cosmetics. Over foundation it extends the wear time of your base and mattifies your skin. Dry skin girls don’t be shy about using this as I am super dry and this didn’t accentuate those areas of my face and had a smooth, even appearance without making my patchy, dry areas look worst. I was astounded how well this wore on my dry skin.
It does promise 12 hours of wear and I wouldn’t say I got that from it but I did get at least six hours in without a touch up worn on bare skin and about seven hours wearing it over a BB Cream so that’s a rather good wear for powder in my opinion.
Overall, I really loved this and must Muse Approve it for purchase. Although a simple translucent powder it felt like I spent $50 on this rather than $13.95. The brush seems to be part of the trick here as well since it allows the product to build easily on your face without ever over doing it plus the powder is super breathable and natural looking.
It’s just a winner.
Loved it.
Do check it out at your local drugstore.
Anyone try?
Looking forward to hearing your thoughts on it!
