PixiGlow Catching Shadows Crayon Review, Swatches, Photos

You guys ready for the PixiGlow Collection?

I can’t wait for this release, it’s my favorite Spring Collection to date. Makeup, Disney, Tinkerbell, what’s not to love?

Let’s take a peek at the PixiGlow Catching Shadows Crayon.

As you know Pixi has collaborated with Disney to launch a Tinkerbell inspired collection! The new Catching Shadows Crayon is a beige gold shadow crayon you can use to shade or line eyes.

The packaging has a tiny little Tink on the tube with a twirling floral vine. Loving the packaging!

The eyeshadow stick has a soft, creamy formula that blends easily and offers just the right touch of beige-y gold highlight to eyes. Indeed, this little crayon will brighten up eyes and chase those shadows away. It wears well over primer for an all day wear time. You can use it to line your eyes, shade your lid, on your highbrow for a touch of highlight, or in the inner corner of eyes to perk eyes up.

It’s only available in a single shade so no need to stress yourself out over a huge selection of colors.

Loves it but the price of $18, ouch! That hurts my feelings a little bit. A little shave off on the price and I’d be a very happy fairy indeed!

It’ll be launching soon at Target.com and Target stores for Spring 2012.

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. Gosh I really like the color! I don’t usually wear eyeshadow but every once in a while when im feeling crazy I’ll do something with a champagne color, I was thinking of getting one of the new Tarantino duo’s but this looks perfect. I can’t wait for this collection to come out.

That color is gorgeous! But how do you sharpen it? Or is it like the Tarte lipstains where you can twist it up?

  • Carrie

I got this in the mail today and am confused…

I figured you would sharpen it, but it’s made out of a hard plastic. I tried and tried to twist it up, but that isn’t working either.

Did I get a dud or do you only get the small amount of product that’s visible?

If that’s the case I am REALLY disappointed! It’s almost $20 for what amounts to about a month’s worth of product!

    • debby

@Carrie: did you ever get an answer? Is this little tip of color all there is???

  • Iram

Mine doesn’t wind up either hmm I’m a little confused too. On the packaging it says over 4g of product. I’m calling pixie beauty to find out. I am super disappointed as this was my fav product next to the palette

Girls! I have just found out that the Catching Shadows Crayon DOES sharpen! Even though it’s plastic, it sharpens just like a wooden pencil. I had to Google long and hard to find this out this afternoon but Petra wrote in one of her email threads on a different site that all of their pencils are formulated to sharpen.

Here is a link she provided to where you can buy one of their Petra Sharpeners. It’s $6.00, so I’m personally going to use a regular makeup pencil sharpener first, as this product was a bit on the steep side as it is.

I purchased this yesterday in the Clearance section of Target for $9.00. Half off, but still priced very steep. The verdict is out on the color payoff but I’ve only had it for a day and I was trying to use only a bit because I thought that was all of the product one could use. We’ll see how it goes, but I just wanted to share this with you all because when I thought that was all the product one was going to get out of this crayon, I almost lost it.
