Sephora Color Reveal Lip Balm Review, Swatches, Photos

Ooo Sephora look at you sitting at the cool kid table for lunch. Spring 2012 has obviously been a good year for you with some very interesting product releases.

We’ve had our bickers in the past but when you do it right kid, you do it right.

I’m loving the new Sephora Color Reveal Lip Balm.

Oh no, groan, not another pH lip balm. Yup, Sephora Color Reveal Lip Balm is indeed a pH lip balm that promises a customized pink shade. These are pretty much the standard lately for Spring and have been consecutively released for the season for the past several years. If you can get past the part about being your shade of customized pink you’ll be pleasantly surprised how great Color Reveal Lip Balm is.

I like this. I’m one for stashing lip balm in my makeup bag, desk drawer, on top of desk, on my vanity, by my night table, etc…it’s particularly a treat for stashing in your desk drawer if you’re anything like me and not really up for reapplication of lipstick and lipgloss after its worn away. The balm starts out a tad on the disappointingly hard side but it warms up quick enough and has a nice glide on lips. It’s not shiny and it’s not heavily hydrating but it does offer enough moisture to protect lips and keep them feeling smooth and flake-free. Essentially the texture is that of a lip balm so don’t expect a ton of bells and whistles.

The joy?

It does indeed turn a hint of pink but I think the real joy is the fact it enhances the color of my natural lips and gives a nice MLBB (my lips but better look) without turning a bright shade of unflattering bubblegum pink.

The thing I didn’t like about it was the taste. It kinda tastes like cardboard. Bit odd but nothing that I can’t overlook.

I like it.

Well worth a pick up and only $12 bucks.

Nice.

Available now at Sephora and Sephora.com

Good morning! I ended up not getting this, and from what you said im kinda glad I didn’t lol, cardboard tasting lip balm?? Eww lol. I’ll stick with my Dior lip glow tyvm 😛

PS: Skin79 came out with a new bb cream that’s in a can like the pink and gold ones, it looks really good! Super high SPF50, matte finish, and it’s a whole lot less grey than the other two! It’s in an orange can, this is like the third time posting this lol I hope this comment goes through, I know your like the BB cream queen so I really wanted to tell you 😛

“kinda tastes like cardboard….” LOL 🙂

I’ve just discovered the L’Oreal balms and really loving those, even more than the Revlon butters. Don’t think I’ll try Sephora ’cause I’m “balmed out”

    • Rachel

I totally agree Regina! I think the new L’Oreal Balm is easily twice as good as the Revlon version. Not as many color options, but way more hydration and not as heavy on the lips.
I’m intrigued about this Sephora lip balm, but $12 seems a bit steep.
Thanks for the review Muse 🙂

Damn that’s about how much you would spend on the Physician’s Formula version—-wtf is going on with their prices?

  • S

Oooh that looks nice! I tried the Dior one & it was too bright for me. Maybe I’ll give this one a whirl….thanks, Muse!

  • Sierrablue
