NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil Review & Swatches
Not sure why I haven’t tried NYX Jumbo Eye Pencils up until now but they just passed by my beauty radar for some reason. The introduction of new shades intrigued me plus NYX is on sale at Ulta so it proved a perfect excuse to snatch some of these chubby little pencils up.
Take a peek!
Hey, these are as NICE as everyone says they are. I’m kinda on a cream kick, unusual for me to say the least considering I used to hate cream shadow with a passion. I just find creams are so easy to use in the AM. Swipe, blend, done, awesome eye look. No fall out, not a lot of blending involved, just easy! Cream Pencils prove even easier to use thanks to the fact you can line eyes with them as well.

Joy to the world with NYX Jumbo Eye Pencils dude. These come in a huge selection of colors and will set you back a mere $4.50 each (I got mine for as little as $3 and change). Let’s not forget they are huge compared to a MAC Shadestick which is 0.05 oz for $17.50 where as these are 0.18oz!
These multitask as an eyeliner, cream shadow, or as a base for loose pigments or eyeshadows. Every color I choose was vibrant with a bit of a twinkle and an almost metallic gleam. The formula is soft and creamy but there is a little tugging involved during application if you apply directly from the pencil. They blend easily as well so application is pretty much foolproof.
Sadly, with or without primer they did crease on me after about five hours of wear but you can re-blend them out and they look completely fresh again.
With eyeshadow or pigment on top I saw little to no creasing and they created a superior base for other products as they added vibrancy to whatever I placed on top of them and acted as a solid base for products. They also keep fall out to a minimal so if you have loose powders or piggies laying around that you simply don’t use because clean up is a hassle I highly suggest prepping with these prior and you’ll notice your pigments will adhere better to your lid with minimal fall out issues or clean up after.
The shades I purchased are a mix of old and new shades. I stuck to picking up some nice nude and natural shades, I just seem to appreciate these types of colors more and more as I get older.

Overall, NYX Jumbo Eye Pencils are a win. I wasn’t keen on the tugging involved to get them in place and they do crease an ickle bit but the colors are really very pretty and they make for some easy eye looks in a snap! Plus the pencils multitask as a liner, shadow, and a great base.
I like ’em!
Pick some up if you enjoy cream eyeshadow, you’ll probably enjoy them as much as I do.
