Tarte Maracuja Divine Shine Lip Gloss Review & Swatches

Tarte has new lipglosses on the scene for Spring. Anyone try ’em yet?

Healthy formula, colors that will flatter your Tarte Blush Collection, and a formula infused with maracuja to keep lips looking smooth and full, what more could a girl want?

Chicks, these aren’t for you if you don’t like thick, sticky glosses but if you’re cool with such a formula you’ll love it. I’ve personally made my peace with stickiness because honestly, let’s face it, sticky glosses make for the longest wear time evahs.

The cute floral pens that the gloss comes housed in will add a touch of Spring to your makeup bags. The glosses are a click pen with an attached brush applicator so they travel friendly for touch ups although the wear time is so long you might not have call for too many touch ups!

Typically Tarte glosses are pretty thin and have a shorter wear so these are an interesting take on gloss for the brand. The formula lacks parabens as well as mineral oil, etc…so if you’re conscious about your ingredients you’ll be very pleased.

The shades are all named after Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush shades however they aren’t exact dupe for the shades, but pretty close, so they are a nice match up for the blush shades should you wish to pair them up with a look!

As I mentioned above they are pretty thick which gives them a heavier feel on lips but the wear time is wonderful at around borderline six hours before it starts to thin out and disappear.

Colors are sheer in some cases but very buildable. It really depends on the color you indulge in. Several of the shades I swatched here have excellent color pay off. They also have a pleasant minty taste.

I was excited about Glisten since it’s my favorite shade of blush from Tarte, but the shade is more of a shimmery beige than the pretty golden peach that the blush color is.

Overall, Tarte Maracuja Divine Shine Lip Gloss have alot of great features including the paraben free formula so long as you don’t mind a thicker, stickier gloss. I liked them, it’s definitely a welcome addition to Tarte’s Lipgloss Collection as they have been lacking in the gloss department slightly.

Hello Ms Muse, I picked up Amuse at Sephora this past weekend and LOVE it. Usually I can’t stand heavy thick gloss but this has just enough slip to make it ok. I also lovvve the mint in it.While I don’t think these are touted as plumping and there was no stinging but it gave my lips the illusion of being quite plump and pillowy. Great job Tarte! !

    • the Muse

yay jennie happy to hear it. I agree, the thicker texture gives the appearance of fuller, pouty lips!

i got adored in a set w/the maracuja lip scrub from QVC…i REALLY like this gloss..it tastes yummy and i feel like it moisturizes my lips..i agree with you it is thick but doesnt get all tacky and gross on me. the color is also really pretty. yay tarte!

That packaging is so pretty and girly! I want one just to have it in my purse!

  • Meredith from Lushli

I heard about these a couple of weeks ago and I’ve been anxiously waiting for a review. I really don’t like sticky glosses but maracuja oil is supposedly very good for your skin. How do they smell? Thanks, Muse!

    • the Muse

hi meredith mentioned the smell and taste in the review hope it helps 🙂

I bought three of these…..Blissful, Natural Beauty and Flush and also want to buy Amused. I really like these. The ones I bought definitely have great color payoff, especially Blissful and Natural Beauty. Love the packaging….really pretty. In the blush Blissful is lighter than Tipsy, but in the lipgloss, it’s the opposite. When I ordered Natural Beauty and Flush from Sephora’s website, I didn’t order Blissful because I thought it would be too light, but when I saw it in Ulta I had to have it. Really shows up on the lips. I don’t find them overly sticky. Don’t hesitate to purchase.

I got Tipsy a few weeks ago. You really have to prime that pen to get the product out, so much so that at first I thought I had a defective applicator! Once it gets flowing though, I find it to be long lasting and the colors are beautiful, just perfect for spring!

I don’t need any more glosses (or any more lip products, period) but the packaging on these is sooooooo pretty!

I think I like the looks of Flush the most.

I got the Flush one from QVC (in a cute bag with the Maracuja lip scrub). I didn’t find mine to be particularly sticky but honestly the gloss is just kind of average for me. I’m glad mine came with the lip scrub because I actually prefer that to the gloss. I have drug store glosses that I like better than this. Oh well.

I bought one of these at Ulta in Blushing Bride. It’s a really nice mauve pink – a little deeper than my natural lip color. I love the texture, the taste is ok but hubby doesn’t like minty or the plumping glosses so I wear it mostly when I’m not around him. The crazy reason I decided to try a lip gloss that I DO NOT NEED is the case was so darn cute I wanted one for in my bag. LOL I’m happy the formula is a winner for me too.

I bought these and ended up returning them.

The formula was nice, but I was so upset when I saw how fast these use up! You get a measly 3.6g for almost $30 (in canada where I live) which is NOT worth it. Compared to most glosses which range from 5-10g!!

If you like these, try Buxom instead. Much more bang for the buck.

  • Kim

OK, I was wrong about the shade I have. It’s actually Blushing Bride (but it looks a lot like the Flush swatch above).

    • Majick

I think the difference between Blushing Bride and Flush is:

Blushing Bride is more “creamy” and opague and Flush looks just a bit brighter, more sheer, and shimmery. I may be wrong because I do not own Flush but that’s how it looks to me.

What happened to the double ended lipgloss? the thing about Tarte is that they are really inconsistent when it comes to the lip products they disappear every 2-3 years.
    Anyways-hugs from Mexico.

I love these so much. I have Blushing Bride from the QVC set and I’m trying valiantly to keep myself from going back and ordering all of the other colors. I don’t think my reasonable side is going to win this battle.
