Benefit Greetings from Cabana Glama Review & Swatches

Greetings from Cabana Glama!

I bet you think Cabana Glama is some luxurious little island, with pink sandy beaches, and hot waiters serving exotic fruity drinks with umbrellas in them.

But technically, Cabana Glama is a box of makeup and a small spot in my bathroom mirror where I get all tropical and gorgeous for Summer. Believe me, it’s just as good as a tropical island if not better, no sea weed, no sand…score! Sorry I’m a pool girl, not a beach one. There are some places sand should never be, like my feet and other parts of my body. Yak!

Jump.

Meet Benefit Greetings from Cabana Glama Your Destination Makeup Kit for all good things gorgeous for Summer. This lovely little set is one of Benefit’s newest gems for creating a Summer-y glow in minutes.

You got yourself a little Benefit Hoola, a bit of Benefit Posietint, Some Kind of Gorgeous Foundation, a trio of eyeshadows all in one kit for toting around with you on holiday, to a real tropical island, not just an imaginary one in your bathroom (or where ever you apply your makeup).

This kit makes the bronzer look easy by combining the joys of Posietint together with Hoola. I always find bronze, alone, very difficult to apply and challenging to wear without looking dull. However, bronzer combined with bright cheek stain, it’s a go. A little Posietint on cheeks with a sweep of Hoola gives a healthy glow to cheeks.

My favorite part of the set would be the trio of shadows which includes a lovely glistening shade of peach that wears beautifully on its own called Peach Fizz. Other shades include Bronze Buzz (dusky brown bronze) and Cocoa Pizazz (chocolate brown). Sweep Bronze Buzz all over your lid, highlight with Peach Fizz, and add definition with Cocoa Pizaaz for a quick, easy natural eye look that flatters your newly tanned look courtesy Hoola.

If you’re a Some Kind of Gorgeous fan there’s a little pot of the medium shade included with this kit for lightweight, creamy coverage prior to your makeup application.

(Left to Right: Some Kind of Gorgeous and Hoola)

Add in a how to guide and sponge applicators and you’re ready for travel!

Once you finish up the makeup, toss the inner tray, and store mementos such as photos or post cards in the reusable box.

Greetings from Cabana Glama is a cute little kit particularly for those who embrace a bronzed look for Summer.

It’s available now at www.benefitcosmetics.com

Wow u look really pretty. Looks pretty natural. I tend to stay away from summer collections coz they look too warm too coppery but this ones nice.

Those eyeshadows look like they’d be perfect for summer, particularly that peach one! Wish they’d thrown in something else instead of Some Kind of Gorgeous in Medium though. Overall, Im gonna try to pass even though I’m really digging the shadow trio. Can you think of a dupe for the Peach Fizz shadow from any brand? That’s the only thing I’ll be really sad to skip out on. I keep looking back at your shadow swatches…. D’aahhh, I have no control!

Benefit have a really great product, I love their Big Beautiful Eyes trio. I love their quirky packaging and retro feel too – quality and fun!

This looks like a really nice kit. Ulta has a free bag with benefit purchase right now. I’m thinking of trying the new foundation. I heard it’s really nice. Hope they still have some bags when I get there tomorrow.

I really wanted this one, but there are too many things working against it. The SKOG just doesn’t work for me, the medium is too dark and the light left me looking parched and dry looking. Hoola is awesome but I would have preferred the one with some shine to it, but that is my opinion :). Love posietint but i would never wear the peach eyeshadow, so it bums me out that this particular kit, and trust me I love me some Benefit palettes, just doesn’t do it for me. Sigh….

Tell me about the foundation gang. Does it lean peach or pink or more netrual?

If I can make the foundation work, I am thinking this would be perfect for my week at the beach!

Those eyeshadows look like the cover girl shimmering sands trio, almost exactly!
