Dior Addict Extreme Lipstick Review & Swatches

Anyone try the new Dior Addict Extreme Lipstick? These promise a long wear time with bold, beautiful color and boy, do they deliver.

These come in Dior’s traditional lipstick packaging that opens bottom to top and sport a little extra weight behind them with an elegant Dior print on the cap.

The brilliance of Addict Extreme are the extra amount of pigmentation you’ll see in the formula and finish of the lipstick. Both of the colors I tried saturated lips with rich color and a nice subtle sheen. If you find the regular Addict Collection a bit weaker in terms of the color pay off you’re looking for, Addict Extreme brings that extra wow factor in the pigmentation department.

Color glides on flawlessly. Even over drier lips they have a nice solid, smooth finish. Don’t expect as much shine here as the regular Addict line but they do have a high sheen finish that gives a shiny look.

(Swatched Left to Right: Sunset Blvd and Avenue)

The wear is comfortable but heavier than you’d expect from the regular Addict line however for this much color it remains surprisingly lightweight. Pigment rich lipsticks are typically cakey and heavier, these are heavy but they settle on lips comfortably while look incredibly smooth and flawless.

Overall, these are fantastic evening lipstick. They have a super elegant finish that provides rich color payoff in a formula that wears from five to six hours without a hiccup in between. The wear time truly is something to be raved as the lipstick remains fresh and flawlessly smooth through the entire wear plus it stays in place without migrating around lips.

If you’re looking for a richly pigmented lipstick with a great wear time Dior Addict Extreme Lipstick does the job and does it well.

I like avenue, it looks like I would enjoy wearing it 🙂 I love how sheer it is.

Muse, you’re killing me! I got this in Incognito right when they came out. I figured I would try it in a low key color before going for more pop. They did me wrong 🙁 Dried out my lips something fierce, even with balm underneath. And it wore off in about an hour with no eating or drinking. Everybody is raving about these along with the new YSL glossy stains and neither one lasts on me long enough for me to get out of the house. I have decided that I have the lipstick curse. I am a genetic mutant, my lips repel all manner of lipstick. And the more expensive they are, the quicker they disappear. Loud sobbing.

aw that’s awful Deb, so sorry to hear it. I didn’t have any issues at all with these. They had a good strong wear, only disappointing element was the shine factor, I wanted a bit more shine but a little gloss on top helped it along ;-D

I have Plaza (I think) and I am actually wearing it now! I love it. I can’t wait until the Sephora RL store starts carrying them so I can swatch the rest of the colors….all the ones I tried at Nordstrom other than Plaza weren’t my type…

I said this last time you wore a red headband and red lipstick-you look awesome. That is your color girl. More red headbands please!!

I don’t do Dior lippies for some reason. (?) THink I tried one once and got my “rough lip syndrome” from it. I have reactions to some lippies where either they chap my lips or my lips feel rough even though you can’t see it. The roughness increases with wear and doesn’t go away until I stop using said product.

Sometimes this happens wtih mangos too. LOL I think I may have problems with certain lip ingredients.

That said, I love both colors on you and I second the motion that RED IS YOUR COLOR!

    • Jane

Hi, I have the same lip reaction to so many products. Would you by any chance be able to recommend any lipstick or any brand that does not cause this for you? Thank you so much!

      • Majick

I really have a large selection. Top of the line would be HOURGLASS (they rock but way too expensive unless you get a good deal).

Too Faced La Creme – love these and there are colors for everyone.

IT COsmetics – they are more a sheer but they are nice.

I can also wear NARS, Tarte, MAC, Lancome, Smashbox, MUFE, Kat Von D.

A drugstore goody would be NYX, and the ULTA Brand isn’t bad either. The Revlon Lip butters are good too. Didn’t like the L’Oreal ones.

HOpe this helps you a little. Oh, the skinny NARS type lippie has mango in it so I don’t reccommend that one. 🙂
