E.L.F. Studio Single Eyeshadow Sunset & Oatmeal Review & Swatches
Sorry guys, I’m a little crazed with the warm, peachy shades today I know. One more post and I promise to leave you alone about the color for a day or two, deal?
E.L.F. has a few new Studio Single Eyeshadows they recently introduced and I’m absolutely loving the shade Sunset. This is a cheap, inexpensive way to indulge in a little of the peach orange-y goodness that’s popping up for Spring/Summer.
Take a peek!
I can’t say that the E.L.F. Studio Single Eyeshadow formula is the best I’ve ever tried, it’s not without fault, but some of the newer colors do prove worthy of a pick up.
These shadows come in a NARS-like packaging but they are plastic, no gross, icky rubber here. For some reason, I appreciate the plastic as it lacks the incredible grossness you have to put up with when it comes to the NARS version but I also think, don’t hurt me, it kinda cheapens things up a little bit as well. Imagine if NARS went plastic with their compacts…dare I say I’d probably miss the gross rubber? But facts is facts, these are mess free, store easily, and aren’t anywhere in the realms of as expensive as a NARS single shade.
Formula is…decent. It isn’t all bad but it isn’t all good either. It needs primer as it will fade and it will crease. It has a cakey texture that blends fairly easily but doesn’t always like to play nicely with other shades when contrasting. It has decent pigmentation but nothing as vibrant as say a MAC Eyeshadow. The thing is I’ve paid less for Wet n Wild Eyeshadows that had better performance. But hey, for three bucks, not too bad either.

(Swatched Left to Right: Sunset and Oatmeal)
Oatmeal and Sunset are two of five new shades they released for Spring and I must say you NEED Sunset. This is such a do-able shade of delicious golden peach on lids. I’m absolutely thrilled with the shade and think it should be universally flattering on most skin tones. Oatmeal proves just as lovely and makes for a fine color wash, giving lids a soft glow, who would think oatmeal would look so pretty on eyes?
(Sunset on eyes)
They aren’t the best formula in the world but at this price they aren’t bad either. I think Sunset proves a must have if you’re ordering from E.L.F. in the near future. It’s a lovely little shade that makes embracing peach on lids easy and foolproof!
I’m sticking a Muse Approval on Sunset.
Gorgeous!
