Josie Maran Argan Matchmaker Powder Foundation SPF 20

Thanks to a reader who tweeted me this morning about the new Argan Matchmaker Powder Foundation SPF 20. Yes, please, I want. Having experimented with Josie Argan Matchmaker Foundation and finding it sadly lacking I’m still quite turned on by her new powder version.

I will be indulging.

On a side note Almay has already done this product but I’m up for testing out Josie’s version anyway but if you’re wanting something cheaper look to Almay’s version which is quite a good pick in my humblest.

Argan Matchmaker Powder Foundation SPF 20 is a self adjusting powder foundation that’s formulated with 100% Pure Argan Oil to hydrate and nourish skin. The powder promises to instantly adjust and match your skin. It mattifies as well and offers sheer to medium coverage with a talc-free formula.

As exciting as it sounds I have a feel it won’t wear well on dry skin but I’m willing to indulge anyway out of pure curiosity.

Shades:
Fair/ Light Shade Range: For the fairest porcelain skin with pink undertones to light skin with pink undertones.
Light/ Medium Shade Range: For the lightest skin with yellow-olive undertones to medium skin with yellow-olive undertones.
Medium/ Dark Shade Range: For medium tan skin to the darkest skintones.

It’s $34 and will be available shortly from Sephora and Sephora.com

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. I wonder if “porcelain” really means it. Sooo many foundations at the extreme end of the pale spectrum are far too dark and sallow. Not that my friends at the other end have it any better, though, I suppose!

Tried to order this from Sephora the other day and they are sold out of most of Josie Maran’s stuff, esp. in the foundation/powder area. I ordered some Fresh Umbrian Clay foundation instead, and a few Nud* brand skincare items…excited to try those!

I just returned this to Sephora. Gave it another chance after not liking the liquid version, this is not as orange but it turns darker on my face overtime and it barely covers for me as I tend to like medium to full coverage. I got the light/medium and I didn’t even bother exchanging it for the fair/light. It’s definitely self changing on me rather than self adjusting. There are just so many choices out there on the market now it’s not hard to find a perfect match. I am done with the self-adjusting technology but I hope it works for someone else! 🙂
