Maybelline Eye Studio Color Pearls Marbleized Eyeshadow Sunset Shimmer Review & Swatches

Maybelline has five new, limited edition shades of Eye Studio Color Pearls Marbleized Eyeshadow available at the moment for Spring. The shades are soft pastel pinks, blues, greens, and yellows. They kinda remind me of Easter eggs.

I picked one up on a whim.

Have a look!

I actually love Maybelline Eye Studio Color Pearls Marbleized Eyeshadow. They are inexpensive at around $5.49-$5.99 and pack a powerful punch. They are a great show of how drugstore makeup quality has evolved.

If you like pastels I imagine these new Spring shades will capture your interest. If not, avoid ’em.

I purchased the shade Sunset Shimmer because I liked the soft copper and light butter yellow but I should have known better. This aren’t quite on par with the typical formula and I thought them a bit chalky overall. The formula isn’t nearly as pigmented as other shades I own as well. I think it swatches gorgeously but the texture is a bit dry on my eyes and it lacks the pigment and finish of the original formula. I also took note that the buttery yellow is quite frosty.

I was disappointed.

I do recommend them for those who like lighter colors however if you’re more of a girl that loves vibrant shades, these aren’t for you.

Anyone see and haul them?

What did you think?

Available now at drugstores.

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. I bought the “Clover” eyeshadow. I figured it was as close as I was going to get to MAC’s Shimmermint since I never was able to get that one. It’s cute, I like it. This yellow/rust combo wouldn’t look good on me, though.

I saw these yesterday at Walgreens, not much of a pastel girl, but I am always a sucker for marbled products. Still haven’t indulged tho!

The Maybelline Eye Studio duos are the best DS eyeshadows IMHO. I just saw these new ones the other day and was tempted, but I ended up getting #30 “Olive Outrage” which used to be named Khaki Craze. It looks like the solid color is the same/very similar to the old one, but they changed the marbled side. It looks like they are reformulating some of the other colors too, the lavender one looked different as did many other colors. If you have a favorite you may want to stock up!
