Milani Illuminating Face Powder Review & Swatches
I think it’s terribly wonderful when you can get three great products out of one. So is the case with the new Milani Illuminating Face Powder that acts as a bronzer, a blusher, and a highlighting all in one powder.
Talk about getting the most bang for your buck.
The new Milani Illuminating Face Powder comes in three shades and each is $9.49. These are new for Spring 2012 but are added to the general catalog so they aren’t limited edition.
One thing to take note of here is the rather lovely design of the palettes. The powder is an embossed rose design. Each of the fully bloomed roses forms an interlocking design. It’s quite pretty and high end looking. Happily enough the rose design is deeply cut into the powder so it doesn’t simply disappear after a few swipes of your brush, the design will stick around through many uses of the powder.
The color range runs from bronzer to brighter depending on the color selection you decide on. The colors graduate with several shades that form a single glowing color when combined together. I found the powder silky yet heavy so you want to use a little at first and slowly build to avoid a cakey look on your face particularly if your skin is drier. They do come across a tad frosty so again, spend a little extra time blending them out for the best finish. They aren’t terribly shimmering but they do produce a glowing effect which in turn will look shimmery so just buff, buff, buff and you’ll release that gorgeous glowy look with a little TLC during application.
Hermosa Rose is the best shade selection if you’re looking for a bronze-y glow. This is made up of light golden and deeper shades of brown as well as beige. It works as either an all over bronzer or as a highlighter. Amber Nectar is the shade to choose if you’re looking for the best combination of a bronzer slash blusher slash highlighting powder. This is made up of golden shades of brown as well as deeper ones plus beige and a lovely corally rose color. I find this shade gives skin a warm, summery glow with hints of peachiness. And finally Beauty’s Touch is the shade you’ll want if you’d like a powder that works best as a highlighter slash blusher. This is made up of varying shades of rose, pink, and beige. On fair to medium fair skin tones it’ll give cheeks a burst of healthy rosy pink and on darker it’ll come across as a soft, rosy glow.

Beauty’s Touch
I find these a rather novel little beauty purchase as they multitask quite beautifully as three powders products (blush, bronzer, and highlighter) in a single compact.
Overall, for a beautifully highlighted face or just for a burst of healthy color on cheeks, Milani’s new Illuminating Face Powders get the job done with a few strokes.
Likey!
