NYX Full Coverage Concealer Jar Review & Swatches
NYX’s original concealer in a jar wasn’t exactly the best formula in the world as I found it a tad on the drying side.
Flash forward to Spring 2012 and NYX Full Coverage Concealer Jar is back with a new and improved formula. Does the formula handle concealing woes any better than the original?
Take a look!
This one, is for the basic concealer user. You’re young, you don’t have a ton of problems to conceal under your eyes or you’re older and just want lightweight coverage for the weekend or when you’re running to the supermarket. Brilliant budget piece that’s worthy of a spot in your beauty arsenal for those needs/issues. However, darker circles, heavy baggage, and finer lines it will not do a great job with sadly.
The formula is improved considerably since the original release. It’s now an emollient, grease-paint like texture that blends easily and offers basic coverage. It wears quite long and might even survive a really warm day (haven’t tried it yet during a super hot day though!) without creasing into finer lines or fading. I find the formula adheres very well under the eye as it has a bit of a tack to it that allows it to stick around for longer wear time. On the downside the pigmentation isn’t the best but for days where I haven’t gotten eight hours of sleep however on days I have it brightens up my eye area and offers nice, lightweight coverage.
If you can’t really afford a higher end concealer and you’re looking for basic coverage without a ton of bells and whistles this will do the deed for as little as $5 bucks. However, if you’re not exactly a spring chicken and in need of more pigmented coverage this one might be a skip.
It’s a nice basic concealer that has a good wear to it but nothing I got terribly excited about it. I like it for days I’m not wearing a ton of makeup and can get away with simple coverage.
