Philosophy Divine Luxurious Lip Color Review & Swatches

Philosophy why o why o has it taken me this long to try out your Divine Luxurious Lip Color.

It’s just that, divine!

I think angel’s sung when I applied it. Either that or I stepped on the cat’s tail.

I know, broken record here, but I’m not much of a cream finish girl however Philosophy Divine Luxurious Lip Color is such a gorgeous, creamy formula that I wasn’t minding so much.

This has a glide like butter across your lips (not that I’ve ever glided butter across my lips before but I did see Paula Deen do it once on SNL! Mmm butter!). It’s one of those lipsticks where you fall instantly in love with it because it has such a crazy cool glide as you stroke it across your lips. It embraces your lips, hugs it tight, kisses it with color…I’m waxing poetry.

No but seriously, the creamy formula is quite a joy to use!

On the down side, yup, sadly it has a few negatives….you have to apply fairly often. For some reason it simply won’t stay in place and proceeds to fade rather quickly. I also noticed that it goes a bit dry within the first hour and continues to become drying as the wear progresses.

(Swatched: Beige Peony)

It’s debatable whether or not you’re willing to over look the negatives for the positive perks. Pigmentation is great in a single stroke, it glides across lips easily and flawlessly leaving behind a nice, smooth color. Wear time is iffy though and dryness is an issue within an hour or two of wear. Thankfully it doesn’t crack or age lips as it dries down but it does feel drying which in turn makes it a bit of a heavy weight.

But oh the joy on first stroke….!

Oh well. Not everything can be perfect in the beauty world.
