Sephora Hot Hues Baked Eyeshadow Palette Burnished Cocoa Review & Swatches

Sephora has brought us the very best in beauty for many, many years but was always lacking a fair bit with their own line of cosmetics.

No longer.

This year, Sephora really stepped up their games and have had a successful Spring release with many fine products to indulge in.

As Summer approaches you might be hauling out your best bronze shades and the Sephora Hot Hues Baked Eyeshadow Palette in Burnished Cocoa is a selection of the perfect shades to turn up the heat in your looks.

Take a peek at this fabulous little product.

Finally quality from Sephora, just want we wanted, always what we expected.

The Sephora Hot Hues Baked Eyeshadow Palette comes in a neon orange case. The case itself is very sturdy and well made with a full size mirror inside and two mini brushes that aren’t too shabby either however the baked shadow format isn’t ideal for carrying around as they are delicate so tossing this and going, in my opinion, isn’t an option. Putting that aside, the chunky compact is fun, funky, and vibrant.

Inside you’ll find five baked shades of shadow that can be used wet or dry. These have a traditional baked formula with a smooth, silky feel and lovely hint of shimmer. The shimmer factor isn’t too crazy so they it isn’t a disco-ball look you’re getting here plus I found fall out extremely minimal. Pay off is sheer but builds easily with the aid of a sponge tip applicator. I thought the shadows applied beautifully with a lightweight feel that holds nicely on lids without creasing or fading. I’m a fan of baked shadows however if you’re not you might not find the joy here.

The colors are arranged in four smaller wells and one large well which contains a split shadow. The four smaller shadows are a bronze, champagne beige, taupe gray, and dark chocolate shade where as the larger split shade is a delightful matte cream and shimmer cream. I loved the matte cream, truly you can never have enough shades like this as it acts as a great color wash to brighten eyes up perfectly on its own. The shades can be used together to create one to two looks or used individually for many looks. The mini brushes included are surprisingly useful as they are soft and have no issues with shedding and buff color on nicely but I do prefer sponge applicators when using baked shadow for the best color pay off.

Overall, this is a delightful little palette that shows Sephora can really bring the quality when they want to. The price tag of $24 is pretty friendly as well. I enjoyed it and do recommend picking one up or at the least checking it out at your local store, I think it’ll be a surprising little pick for some!

Loves it!

Available now at Sephora and Sephora.com in two shades selections.

If you tried it I’d love to hear your thoughts!

Hi Muse, have you tried the Pro- lesson eye palettes from Sephora? How do you like them?

  • kiwikiwidragon

I had these in my cart and went for the Unzipped palette from Lorac. I love upzipped, but I still want this one and the purple as well!!

I’m obsessed with this. Guess who did a 3 minute smoky eye with this palette AND THE BRUSHES INCLUDED?

    Yep. This fella right here,

    Um…meaning me.

No but really, I got this on sale for $7 a few months back on a whim since I’ve always wanted baked shadows (neutral of course) and didn’t have any. And this was the best. EVER.

That being said, my daily eye look requires one matte as well as one shimmer highlight. Guess who takes on both? #GodBless,

    Okay, enough raving. LOL
