Too Faced Candlelight Glow Highlighting Powder Duo Revew & Swatches
Too Faced Candlelight Glow Highlighting Powder Duo is a new highlighting powder inspired by the original Candlelight Powder to give cheeks and face a Summer-y glow.
If you already own the original, you’ll still want to pick up this new version since the finish and shade is quite different.
Take a look!
I’m really bad at highlighting application but I still find myself collecting all the pretty powders I can get my hands on. It’s a beauty junkie thing I suspect.
Too Faced Candlelight Glow Highlighting Powder brings together not one shade of powder but two in a soft gold and pale pink color to highlighting cheeks, face, and even eyes.
The powder is split evenly down the center into two shades and features a lovely little candelabra design. Visually the powder is stunning to look at, it has this beautiful glow right in the compact! The split sides are actually easy to use separately as they are generously sized so you can dip your brush into either the right or left side without issue. Or you can use both shades swirled together if you prefer. I find the best effect is definitely combining the two shades.
Remember kids, a little goes a long way here. The powder isn’t laced with shimmer or sparkle but it does have an iridescent glow-y finish so you’ll want to use a delicate hand during application. A fan brush is highly recommended here as it can easily pick up small amounts of the powder which in turn can be swept on your face lightly versus a bronzer or blusher brush which can vastly over do it.
The white gold shade seems to hold a richer glow and far less sparkle than the original version where as the paler pink also has a white gold reflection. The texture of the powder is a bit drier and doesn’t kick up a ton of dust when a brush is swept across it, I took note of this and felt like it was a very good thing as it prevented me from grabbing up too much powder and over doing things (as I’m known to do with highlighting powders). Drier skin do be aware and take extra time and patience to prep prior to use as the powder can look less than smooth on flaky, patchy skin. The powder has a bit of a frosty finish if you go heavier with it but it buffs out nicely so just take some extra time to blend it out if you have a heavier hand to avoid issues with frost.
You don’t have to limit yourself to using this on your face as it makes an excellent color wash for eyes or to highlight your brow bone area with a spot of golden glow.
Overall, this one was a winner. It takes a little patience to apply for the best results but the finish is simply stunning and offers a radiant glow. It’ll look incredible on tan, olive, or darker skin tones as well so if you’re a bronzing goddess in the Summer this is the perfect compliment to your tan.
Loves it.
