Physicians Formula Mineral Wear Airbrushing Kabuki Brush Review

Was there every a more perfect brush made than the Physicians Formula Mineral Wear Airbrushing Kabuki Brush?

Nay! Nay there never was.

The Physicians Formula Mineral Wear Airbrushing Kabuki Brush is the type of brush you get three of. That’s right, splurge, go get three, hell, get four…use one for your creams, one for your liquids, and ones for your powders and minerals and set aside one for a back up just in case you’re ever without this most beloved brush.

Excellent, you NEED it, NOW! Best brush I ever owned.

This chunky round barreled brush has super short, dense bristles and allows you to buff creams, powders, liquids, and other bases into your skin to a flawless finish.

Amazing!

It can be most compared to the brush that comes with one of my very favorite foundations, Bourjois Paris Mineral Matte Foundation.

The dense bristles are the key to the airbrushed effect here as you don’t have useless, floppy bristles that try to buff product into your skin but just end up making a mess. These bristles fit close to your skin and allow you to buff product in fully for a lightweight, airbrushed, flawless finish.

It pretty much works with all bases perfectly!

Physicians Formula doesn’t exactly have a great track record with brushes. The ones included with their compacts are awful. They shed, they are scratchy and uncomfortable on skin, and just a general nightmare. So count me surprised and quite delighted how amazing their first foray into the beauty tool world went!

Moral of the story?

This an essential brush and everyone should own it.

Very Muse Approved for purchase.

Ha ha! I have used this brush for a long time and am in love. I just about had a panic attack yesterday thinking they might discontinue it, so I bought 3 extra. Just reading this makes the crazy in me think I should get at least one more, or two….

    • the Muse

i don’t blame you I have two in my beauty closet, unused, JUST in case!

gonna throw it out there and say it is prob synthetic, I tossed the box so can’t confirm but it’s a lucky guess.

Well count me interested. I’ve never had much luck using foundation brushes and I’ve been wanting one that will apply liquids with the flawless finish everyone raves about(right now I just use my fingers). I’ll give this one a go, if it makes you geek out that hard, it must be worth a shot!

    • the Muse

WELL worth it littlecreek! ;-D especially creams, it brushes them into skin to a flawless light finish! amazing!

    • the Muse

don’t use cinema brush cleaner on it ;-D it destroyed one of mine. However, it works fine with baby shampoo but I prefer mac brush cleaner for the best results, pour a little in a plastic bowel, swish it around, rinse and dry, perfect

Hey Muse, I was wondering if you use this with your BB Creams as well? I’ve been wondering whether I should try this with my powders, I had no idea people used it for liquids and creams!

    • the Muse

grace, for the best benefits of a bb cream you wanna apply by traditional Asian method in my humblest. But if you’re using with BB Creams from here in the states, sure, why not ;-D

  • Hillarie

I was curious about this, but I assumed it would just be a dyed version of the brush from their airbrushing powder foundation (but that one had natural bristles and was so scratchy!) – but now I’m very tempted to try it out 🙂

  • Jen

Do you apply your makeup then use this to buff or do you actually use this to apply?

    • the Muse

i apply cream foundation/bb cream with it. buff it in and than apply makeup such as blush, eyeshadow, etc

I have to THANK YOU for this brush review, I picked one up at Ulta with my 20% off coupon and I have never loved any cosmetic or tool as much as I love this brush. Seriously. I use it to apply Bare Minerals foundation and I LOVE IT. So soft, huge surface area, and the application is flawless. The BM kabuki brush was so rough it made my eye area break out, and this brush has fixed that issue and more. Thanks so much!

    • the Muse

yeah so happy to hear it mep! ;-D you can use it for creams too ;-D! wahooo! I always love hearing beauty success stories.

I got mine from ross today for 4 dollars. Figured I’d buy it to try it. I opened it and felt it, but have yet to use it.
