St. Ives Scrub Free Exfoliating Pads Review
I was able to finally locate the new St. Ives Scrub Free Exfoliating Pads. None of the drugstores in New York seem to have these so I grabbed them from Drugstore.com finally as Ulta.com had sold out.
Let’s take a look!
This is a tub of sixty exfoliating pads that are pre-soaked with Lactic Acid and Glycerin. The solution is paraben-free and safe fo daily use, St. Ives recommends using twice daily.
They have a fresh almost fruity scent that I found very pleasant but I do wonder about how much fragrance is in the mix here as the scent is fairly strong so sensitive skin might not be overjoyed by the fragrance.
The pads are very nicely saturated in a smooth, soft cotton fiber. I’d probably have preferred a quilted design for these as it insures you’ll exfoliate with not only the formula that saturates each pad but also the quilted design will aid in swiping away dry areas.
These leave skin feeling very refreshed and gently hydrated however after two weeks or so of daily use I’m not really seeing smoother, brighter skin so I imagine the amount of Lactic Acid per pad isn’t terribly impressive. If you’re replying on them solely to remove dry, patchy areas I think they might prove disappointing likewise for revealing brighter skin.
They are quite nice for smoothing on prior to moisturizer and foundation as they ease the way for both products and allow them to absorb and apply easier.
I didn’t expect much for five dollars though however they are worth purchasing if you typically tone prior to moisturizer and/or foundation as they work great as a prep prior to other steps in your regime.
