Covergirl Eye Enhancers Palette Summer 2012

For Summer 2012 Covergirl Eye Enhancers get a revamp. Yes, that is Taylor Swift in the promo image on the display!

Crazy right? Doesn’t even look like her!

These new Eye Enhancer Palettes have four shades of complimentary shades for a variety of eye colors. I know I’ve mentioned it before but I’m not really a lover of palettes that claim to contain shades suitable for my eye color, I’d rather pick and choose the shades I enjoy using not ones that a brand picks for me meh!

I think the original Eye Enhancer Palettes weren’t all that fabulous but of course, that’s just from looks alone on my part as I didn’t actually try them.

Did you use the old palettes?

Loved?

Here’s a look at the new ones.

These were $5.59 each at Rite Aid. I was going to purchase one to review but they looked chalky and blah…so I skipped. I have a funny feeling I am not missing much.

Some of the colours look interesting, but the only time I spent money on Covergirl shadow, I felt like I’d wasted my money. Chalky, powdery, and totally gone in twenty seconds =(

I thought the colors were so pretty on some of them, so I got one with a nice brown and some muted, deeper colors. I had such high hopes and the minute I tried swatching them, I was so disappointed. The quality of all four colors was so lacking. I actually returned, and I don’t think I’ve ever hated a product enough to return it so…yeah.

kelly I feared this. they looked quite nice in the pan but I thought they would be chalky 🙁 meh sorry about that!

I have heard some good reviews, apparently they have reformulated, however I passed… I just don’t like any of the color combos. They were all very boring to me, and I’m a drugstore shadow junkie so that is weird for me.

I purchased Goldmine for review and was pleasantly surprised! The texture was buttery soft with little-to-no fallout and the pigmentation was really good. They blended well, wore well, and the only problem I had with Goldmine was the light green was a bit sheer and didn’t layer well, which leads me to believe it’s meant to be a highlight (but it’s a poor highlight). Otherwise, the other three shades were magnificent!

I always like the idea of eye color specific stuff but I feel like they always pick stupid colors. I have grey eyes (so I usually have to buy blue-eye pallets) and they are typically blue, copper, or brown. Isn’t red/pinky color supposed to pop blue eyes more?

I always wanted a pallet that had like a lovely rose that really pops blue so why do these pallets always come with blue?

I actually love Covergirl’s eyeshadows and I have one of the old eye enhancer’s quad and I love that one, so I’m super excited to try one of these! (:
