Do Not Want Kat Von D New American Beauty Art Print Set

The new Kat Von D New American Beauty Art Print Set might capture your heart if you’re a hardcore fan…

But if you’re not, chances are you won’t want to blow near $200 on this set.

This is a selection of limited-edition prints by Kat Von D and a four piece set of her core beauty products.

On the upside these are gorgeous prints and one hundred percent of the proceeds from the New American Beauty Art Prints will benefit The Art of Elysium, up to $20,000.

Art of Elysium is a non-profit organization founded to encourage working actors, artists, and musicians to voluntarily dedicate their time and talent to children who are battling serious medical conditions.

I’m not sure, entirely, how they worded that though….one hundred of the proceeds from “the prints” goes to the charity….that’s not saying that 100% of the proceeds from the sale of the set is going to the charity…so yeah, that’s a little confusing. Are the prints worth $175? Is that all going to the charity? Or are the prints just $100 of the set? Or $50?

The set includes:

  • 5 New American Beauty Art Show prints in New American Beauty, Altruism, Wisdom, Strength, Independence
  • Kat Von D True Romance Eyeshadow Palette
  • Kat Von D Foiled Love Lipstick in Adora
  • Kat Von D Eau de Parfum Rollerball in Sinner
  • Kat Von D Tattoo Liner in Trooper

Cool set, great cause, not sure I’m willing to shell out for it though not knowing exactly what goes to charity…!

Do not want.

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. I want this set! I already have the saint palette, adora lipstick, and the sinner perfume, so the value isn’t as great for me. I really want those prints though.

I do like Kat von D’s makeup but $200?? Even when they sold the eyeshadow quads that were also for the Art of the Elysium charity, those were reduced from $20 to I think $9. Full priced all those items should come under $100. If people weren’t willing to shell out $20 for the eyeshadow quads (even I waited until it was on sale), I doubt this will sell out anytime soon!

WTF? This should at least contain exclusive items. A hardcore fan is probably going to have all the makeup. The value of the prints has to be the price minus the product cost. Which should be spelled out on the website.
