Kate Somerville Complexion Correction Spot Reducing Concentrate Review
Dark spots, getting a ton of coverage in the beauty world lately aren’t they?
Brands keep releasing dark spot correctors, serums, potions, and lotions but many of them do not contain the necessary ingredients to really aid in lightening darkness.
Kate Somerville Complexion Correction Spot Reducing Concentrate contains the gold standard of ingredients for lightening dark spots, 2% Hydroquinone.
The good news? It works.
The bad? You’ll have to wait around for the results.
Kate Somerville Complexion Correction Spot Reducing Concentrate is an excellent way to lighten dark spots and hyperpigmentation but an expensive one.
This treatment contains 2% hydroquinone which is well known for lightening discolorations. Take note of the key word here, “lightening” as in this lightens dark spots but doesn’t completely fade or correct them. Lotions and serums and potions of any kind are not going to completely eliminate your dark spots but they will fade them which is considerably cheaper than heading to the Doctor’s office.
Not only does Kate Somerville Complexion Correction Spot Reducing Concentrate contain hydroquinone but it also contains anti-aging ingredients such as retinol as well as antioxidants.
The tube is a sad 0.5 oz for $48 so this is a pricey option and there are other products available with the same amount of hydroquinone for less but I haven’t personally tried those products and this successfully worked for me so why not recommend it?
The unfortunate problem with hydroquinone is the wait time. It takes anywhere from 6 to 12 weeks to actually see results in my experience. You have to be diligent about application and you have to have patience. I have some darkness on my lower jawline/cheek on the left side of my face that I wanted to be rid of and this successfully lightened the darkness to a point it wasn’t visible unless you were really looking for it.
Hydroquinone is a tricky ingredient though as reports say that it could work in reverse and darken tan or olive skin rather than help lighten it so do take this into account when using.
I used this once a day, in the evening, on my dark spots (not all over my face) after completing my entire nightly regime so this was the last step in my skincare application.
I saw absolutely no results with the first use so don’t expect visible fading in 24 hours. I started to see some change within a month and within my second month I saw a dramatic difference.
Lucky enough, I still have enough in the tube to possibly last me another month or at the least two-three weeks. Overall, I liked this and would purchase it again to resume the treatment for the best possible results.
If you’re suffering from dark spots you might want to check this one out however you have to have a good deal of patience as it does take time to see results.

It’s a bit small for the price but I do Muse Approve it for purchase since it worked so well!
