MAC Hey, Sailor! Suntints SPF 20 Liquid Lip Balm Review and Swatches
MAC Suntints are back with the MAC Hey, Sailor! Summer 2012 Collection.
This is the third round with Suntints as they were originally released with the Baby Boom Collection and again, last year, with the Surf Baby Collection.
Take a peek!
I’ve always considered Suntints a sort of low calorie Lipglass formula in a tube. Fact is, if you’ve always fancied a lighter, sheerer version of Lipglass but in a tube with SPF 20, well, this is your bag baby!
You won’t be getting a ton of pigment here sadly, Suntints are a sheer formula and in most cases provide subtle color if any at all. The formula has a thick, Lipglass-like formula with a vanilla taste and an SPF 20.
I think the main appeal is the SPF 20. I’m not really all that into lipgloss or balm with SPF, maybe I should be? But I realize many folks like it so this does have a good deal of SPF for protecting lips through the wear.
The formula adheres nicely to lips for a fairly long wear but with that long wear comes a sticky, tacky formula. I’ve made my peace with sticky gloss formulas and I understand the need for such a formula as it does lengthen the wear time however if you’re averse to sticky glosses Suntints might not be for you.
The joy here is the glossy, shiny finish that wears well over stains and lipsticks or on its own for a nude, glossy lip look.
Abalone and Sea Mist
Overall, the color pay off may prove disappointing if you prefer more pigmented glosses however those seeking a glossy, shiny, long wearing gloss with a fairly decent SPF, MAC Suntints provide!
The MAC Hey, Sailor! Collection launches on counter May 24th or get your hands on it now at maccosmetics.com
