Maybelline Color Sensational The Porcelains Lipstick Afternoon Tea Review and Swatches
I’m a later hater. I do NOT do left overs. Anything reheated, microwaved, or re-served to me after a few hours or even a day will be promptly ignored. No, thank you. That must be why I’m not wild about the shade of Maybelline Color Sensational The Porcelains Lipstick I picked up, because dude, I look like death warmed over in the microwave with this shade on.
No likey!
Personally, I think the Maybelline Color Sensational The Porcelains Lipstick Collection will prove pretty tricky to pull off. These are all cream finishes in some really mod shades. Some folks can rock the socks off mod but me, I look deathly in a mod shade with a cream finish.
I picked up the color Afternoon Tea which looked like a lovely shade of dusky MLBB (my lips but better) pink.
Technically speaking it is a dusky shade of pink but once applied it seems to have a bit of a lilac vibe going on or mauve if you will. Perhaps, mauve is a better way to describe the shade and my eyes doth do deceive me making me believe it was dusky pink.
Either way I didn’t like the shade and damn straight the cream finish wasn’t me either so I applied it with clear gloss for the photo I took below to give it a better finish. Without the gloss, it looked chalky, patchy, and made my lips less than smooth.
The formula, as with most all Sensational Lipsticks, is drying as hell but throw a little cream into the mix and it becomes “Imma suck the life out of your lips” formula. It sits unnaturally a top my lips, provides zero hydration, and will indeed, look and apply terribly if you have less than smooth lips, I’m talking to you chapped, flaky lip girls.
Overall, The Porcelains may appeal to a few folks but as for me, no can do, I can’t go for that.
