Milani Matte Powder Eyeshadow Review & Swatches
Oh hello matte lovers!
You’ll be wanting to haul the new Milani Matte Powder Eyeshadows your next trip to CVS I’m sure. These come in a range of vibrant shades and a few neutrals too to keep all the matte lovers happy.
Take a peek!
Milani has released 12 new shades of powder eyeshadows recently, six of those shades are a satin finish and I recently reviewed them for you with the other six shades providing a matte finish.
Milani again went with a mix of both vibrant and neutral shades as they did with the satin finishes. If bold is your bag you’ll love hot pink shades like Shocking Pink and Olympian Blue. The more conservative shadow shade lovers will love shades like Brown Stone and French Vanilla.
Without a doubt these have a highly pigmented formula. For under $5 bucks each you probably won’t find a nicer eyeshadow with this kind of color pay off. They do have a heavier texture but it blends out easily and will build nicely without looking messy, I personally feel you need to spend a little TLC time with them to get the best application and finish.
I’m not a matte connoisseur by any means but the formula seems to have a smooth, silky feel to me and applies with very minimal issues aside from a little patchy action on the darker shades which can easily be fixed by simply building the shade up.

I’m actually partial to French Vanilla at the moment. This is a cool, creamy vanilla that creates a nice color wash for other shadows or perfect on its own to brighten the eye area up and prep it for dramatic eyeliner.
If matte is your finish of choice I don’t think you’ll find any issues with this formula and you have to love the cheap as chips price tag of around $4.49 with a whooping 0.11 oz of eyeshadow per pot.
These will become part of Milani’s stanard catalog this Summer. I’ve seen them at a few drugstores already so do check displays at your local drugstores.
Will you be hauling them?
P.S. Pitch Black is unwearable for me all over the lid but DO pick it up anyway! Dip a liner brush in water, shake the excess out, and draw a line down the center of the pan of Pitch Black. Now use one side wet to line eyes with and one side as dry powder eyeliner to either fill in after you’ve applied your eyeliner pencil for more drama or on its own for a matte lined look! Works a treat using this method!
