Sephora Microsmooth Foundation Face Powder Kinda Like a MAC MSF?

Sephora Microsmooth Foundation Face Powder is a new foundation packaging that vaguely resembles MAC’s Mineralize Skinfinish hmmmm…

Sephora Microsmooth Foundation Face Powder is $22 and available in eight shades.

It’s a paraben-free formula which contains micronized, advance pigments that blend seamlessly into the skin to enhance skintone and provide a flawless, no-makeup finish.

Formulated with mineral water and baked to achieve an air texture it promises flawless, weightless coverage.

Not sure on the size but at $22 it remains $7 cheaper than a MAC MSF.

Count me curious…

I ordered one a few days ago, looking forward to comparing MAC’s to it.

Whatcha think?

P.S. How slow is this week going? Diablo III’s release is NEVER going to get here. It’s like the night before Christmas but taking three years to get here.

Le sigh!

Ugh I’ve been slowly withering away, waiting for D3. I was so excited when they announced the release date but I should’ve known how slowly the month would go by!

I’ve always been interested in MSF but I’ve strayed away from them due to my oily skin :[ I hate the look of a matte finish… SO unnatural… But it’s the best thing to keep my oiliness at bay. Anyone with oily skin use MSF?

    • the Muse

it feels like 50 years….I wasn’t going to get involved with D3 but I got more and more excited as the weeks past ;-D I know what you mean, I’m dry, and matte is NOT for me either :-/

Hi Kayla! Dunno if this helps or not but I’ve got oily skin and use Skinfinish Natural and I actually love it! I’d say it looks unnatural and a little powdery for maybe the first 10-15 minutes but then it looks great! I was surprised with how much I liked it haha. For me it’s been the thing that’s worked best to deal with my giant nose pores as well hahaha!

Kayla – I have oily skin and LOVE MAC MSF. In my experience, it doesn’t provide as much oil control as a powder that’s specifically designed for that purpose, but it looks SO much better (like so much). It also doesn’t cake up on my face the way other powders have been known to do.

Yes! I have oily skin and use MAC’s MSF Natural. I absolutely love it! I usually have to blot about 4-5 times a day (very oily skin!) and I usually follow up with my MSF Natural. At first it can look a little powdery or maybe too matte (especially if you really want that radiant look) but put it on and wait about 10 minutes. It will look flawless! The powder seems to blend right into my foundation and skin color making it look not too matte, but now shiny. I love to wear it over my Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua foundation.

However, it does have pigment to it so if you’re looking for a translucent powder, the MSF Natural would not be for you. I need that extra coverage throughout the day so this works well for me. Just be sure to blot before you apply.

I really didn’t like this. I tested it at Sephora and it seemed.. I dunno kind of chalky? Then again I dislike MSF sooo much that could why I didn’t like this. I

I can’t wait to see your comparison between MAC MSF and these!

  • Nekura

I really hope it’s close to MACs.. I need to go to a Sephora and swatch.

I love MAC’s finish but the formula is just horrid on my skin. I used up quite a few compacts in some deranged sense of love and sacrifice but it always makes my skin bumpy and clogs my pores so I’ll look great with the stuff on but it’ll leave my actual skin a wreck. I stopped using it for a while.. but I can’t find anything with that type of finish so here’s hoping!
