Sleek Makeup i-Divine Ultra Mattes V2 Darks Palette Review & Swatches
Well, sometimes matte finishes surprise me and the new Sleek Makeup i-Divine Ultra Mattes V2 is most defiantly a surprise. Surprise I like it, a lot.
Sleek Makeup i-Divine Ultra Mattes V2 Darks Palette is one of two new palettes from the brand that will become apart of the general catalog. Smoky more natural shades not your deal? No worries there’s also the V1 I-Divine available in Brights for those who want bolder looks.
Sleek is embracing a new solid pressed shadow in these new palettes and from my understanding future palettes as well as old ones will start embracing this as well. I think this flat surface shadow provides easier application versus the old quilted, patchwork design of the original palettes. This kicks up a lot less powder and I think application feels smoother with this flat design.
These are some seriously beautiful mattes. Not only are they soft and silky but they are crazy pigmented with a true to pan color that is out of this world. Unlike past mattes I’ve tried from Sleek these have a soft, lightweight formula which is surprising for such a pigmented formula. The shadows glide on effortlessly without skipping or tugging or patchiness as mattes in my past have been known to do.
The palette is a slim, black rectangle that travels easily and has a built in full size mirror. You’ll get 12 eyeshadows total at 0.03 oz per shade.
The Darks selection has some fresh, natural shades of color as well as many sultry, smoky shades and finally some more vibrant ones such as purple, dark turquoise, and hunter green.
Some of these shades are a bit intimidating for older eyes as smoky, richly pigmented shades like this do bring out dark circles and finer lines but you can easily get a sophisticated color wash from them with a softer application technique and a fluffier brush.
Overall, this is a pure steal at $10.50! Of course, shipping on Sleek isn’t friendly though but there has been some discussion of better shipping prices hopefully coming soon. The site is UK based but does ship to the US. I suggest getting together with a friend or two and doing an order or maybe hit up your favorite makeup forum and do a group order to save on shipping costs.
I don’t do mattes but this gets a solid Muse Approval from me.
Excellent quality at a super budget price.
