Smasbox Reflection High Shine Lipgloss Review & Swatches
Ahh familiar isn’t it? Smasbox Reflection High Shine Lipgloss is a newly launched slim line gloss that may give you a little case of deja vu.
Imma just sayin’ N.Y.C. New York Color Cosmetics Extreme LipGlider Lipgloss comes to mind. I was a magpie with those glosses, hoarded them like no one’s biz! Loves ’em!
Needless to say I was every so slightly excited about Smasbox Reflection High Shine Lipgloss but not the price as hey, that’s not really comparable to New York Color Cosmetics prices eh?
Let’s take a peek!
At $19 these slim little tubes may look and feel a little expensive. The slim tube with slanted tip applicator just looks really tiny on a whole but don’t let that smaller, thinner tube fool you as you are getting a good deal of product here. The tube houses a whooping .36 oz of gloss at this price that’s over double a MAC Lipglass at $14.50.
The cool thin design allows for easy travel and hey, it looks rather awesome yes?
Sadly, their lacking a little in the shade variety here as Reflection High Shine Lipgloss comes in a mere six shade selection. Variety the spice of your makeup life? Well, there isn’t a ton to choose from here.
If thick, ooey gooey gloss is your poison of choice you’ll love this one. It’s a thick, sparkling gloss with a sticky, tacky feel that wears quite long. The tack and stick are part of the reason it adheres so well to lips so expect a fairly great wear time out of these guys. It doesn’t have issues with migrating either so gloss stays in place without moving all over your lip line and face.
They apply like crumbs in my opinion. The one shade I did get seemed to want to glide across my lips in a strange, clumpy sort of way. I’d apply it on one side of my lip and it would roll away to the other side of my lips leaving behind bare skin, another words just patchy application going ons here. On the upside, once in place it’s a nice gloss. It has a good glossy texture, just the right about of sparkle, and fairly decent color pay off so what you see in the tube is fairly true to the color finish you’ll get on lips.

Overall, Smashbox Reflection High Shine Lipgloss offers a good deal of bang for your buck. It may look small but it houses a good deal of product. If you’re seeking a thicker gloss with good color pay off and a long wear I’m sure you’ll love it. But you need a little patience during application to get it on correctly. On the downside if sticky and tacky isn’t your bag and you want a fair bit of variety in the color department this one might not be for you.
