Tarina Tarantino Dollskin Cream Blush & Pressed Sparklicity Review and Swatches
My love for Dollskin Blush knows no bounds so of course I needed to try out the new Tarina Tarantino Dollskin Cream Blush & Pressed Sparklicity.
These combine my love of shimmer with a cream blush for a sparkling Summer glow!
These come in the same gunmetal gray packaging as the original Dollskin Blushes however, they are a little bigger in size and the price of $28 reflects that. You’re looking at 0.16 oz/0.23 oz of product here versus the originally blushes of 0.2 for $25.
Each duo features a cream blush as well as a pressed Sparklicity Powder. Considering Sparklicity Powder has always been offered loose this might be very appealing if you wanted a pressed version for easier application. You’ll be applying the cream blush first and a bit of the sparkle powder on top for a little added highlight and glow.
Stop the press…this Sparklicity Powder is intense. For my photos below I didn’t use it as it photographs rather crazy and I have enough crazy glittery pics on my blog already eh? You have to be quite careful with these because as beautiful as they are, they are less than refined and the shimmer is quite chunky. I sincerely lack the application know how to get them on correctly and I end up looking like I dove into a pool of glitter when I use them. If you’re a master highlighter with a lighter hand you’ll be a ok but if you’re anything like me, heavy handed and shimmer happy, you might find application challenging.
The cream blushes are the real gold for me. I’m not too big a fan of cream blushes but these as gorgeous and have a lovely radiant glow on cheeks. The formula runs pretty thin for a cream blush but they do pack a nicely pigmented punch and build easily. The moisturizing formula isn’t sticky and has a semi-matte dry down that isn’t powdery but just melds with skin for a flawless, lightweight finish.
Overall, I’d probably be happier with cream blush alone as I’m a stinker at getting the Sparklicity down correctly but hey, these are awful pretty as a duo! If you’re a fond fan of cream blushes you’ll adore them. My only issue? Lack of variety…they are only available in two shades so far. I’m still a big fan and lover of Tarina’s powder blushes but these are quite fitting for the Summer.
Muse Approved for purchase.
