The Best Products to Detox and Clarify Your Hair
I try to avoid silicones in my hair products since it weights down my long, wavy hair like nobody’s biz. I typically rely on Lush Shampoos and Conditioners since they lack silicones but sometimes, well, my hair kinda digs ’em and off to silicone-land I go!
You’re probably using a ton of products that weight your hair down daily and make it heavy, greasy, oily, or just lackluster. It happens.
Here are some of my favorite products to detox and clarify hair to give it a nice, light, fluffy feel.
Personally, you should probably detox twice a week if you hair isn’t color treated and you’re using a ton of product but once a week if you don’t use a ton of haircare products. Hair gets weighted down in a major way the more product we put into it be it a shampoo or conditioner laden with silicones or hair gel and hair spray that leaves behind a ton of gunk.
Here’s some of my favs for clarifying hair and getting it back in fighting form.
Carol’s Daughter Rosemary Mint Shampoo & Conditioner
One of my favs for gently cleaning, clarifying, and refreshing my hair. This duo contains a blend of rosemary, peppermint and marine extracts that removes product build up and helps restore hair with a paraben, mineral oil, and petroleum free formula. This literally brings the squeaky back to clean hair.
Lush Big Shampoo
Facts is facts, Lush Big is harsh on hair or at least on mine. It dries out hair in a major way and makes it like a head of straw but as far as detoxing? Oh hells yes. It’ll get your hair so clean it’ll whistle. Color treated hair beware!
Lush Antiphilitron
Swimming a lot this Summer? Chlorine destroys my hair! Antiphilitron is packed full of lemons and de-greases, de-oils, and fights grime, chlorine, and silicones in a flash! Plus with daily use it’ll lighten up brown hair.
Lush Ice Blue Shampoo
Problems with flakys? Oil? Or just want to wash those silicones right out of your hair? Ice Blue’s minty peppermint shampoo will wash it all out and leave hair soft, lighter, and fluffy!
These are my top picks for detoxing hair. I highly recommend them. They’ve def saved my hair when it was feeling limp and lackluster.
But if you can’t really afford to indulge, simple Baby Shampoo, used one a week, goes a long way at clarifying hair in a snap!
Good Luck!
