Bliss That’s Incredi-‘Peel’! Spa-Strength Glycolic Resurfacing Pads Review

This was provided to me by a brand for review but all opinions expressed are my own

I’m kinda liking Bliss That’s Incredi-‘Peel! Spa-Strength Glycolic Resurfacing Pads. I go through stints where I use Glycolic Acid nightly however, it’s not something I use regularly since it doesn’t get on well with dark spot correctors, brighteners, and whiteners.

I put a hold on my typical skincare and decided to give Bliss That’s Incredi-‘Peel! Spa-Strength Glycolic Resurfacing Pads a little try out.

Take a look!

A typical Glycolic Acid peel contains 10% acid however, Bliss fails to tell us how much is in their new peeling pads. After a little sleuthing and a few calls to Bliss I was unable to weasel the secret sauce out of anyone and they wouldn’t give up the details about how much acid is in these pads. On the upside next to water, Glycolic Acid is the highest ingredient on the list which means there should be a good deal of it in here. Now if they’d just officially tell me how much…!

Glycolic Acid resurfaces skin to ease dryness, sooth finer lines, lighten dark spots and acne scarring, and a slew of other fine and fabulous things. It’s a great product that easily re-textures skin and keeps it looking flawless. I don’t typically use it regularly since I tend fiddle around with a ton of various brightening products and dark spot treatments and combining them with Glycolic Acid will render them useless so you might want to try these for a week out of your month but not daily. You also have to avoid retinoids and be sure to use plenty of SPF during use since they are resurfacing skin which means your skin is more sensitivity to the sun.

On that note let’s get on with Bliss’ take on glycolic acid!

These are water based and contain a cocktail of witch hazel, gylcerin, and licorice extract as well as glycolic acid so you aren’t quite getting the potency and experience of a full of alpha-hydroxy acid here. For me the extra ingredients seem to sooth the formula out and makes it a little more gentle, so gentle in fact you can use it nightly if you wish. My skin is drier, aging, and duller and I had no issues with using them. I think they should prove soothing enough on sensitive skin because of the water content in each pad but don’t quote me there. Just be careful when using and do a spot test before a full on application.

The pads come individually wrapped in a 30 pack box. I can’t express how grateful I am each is wrapped on its own. This allows the product to remain stable and fresh with each use so you aren’t resisting exposing other pads to open air or bacteria. I wish, wish, wish that Philosophy would start producing their Miracle Worker pads in a similiar fashion.

Each pad is made of a heavy quilted cotton and is heavily saturated with the acid formula. They have a TON of product in each wipe so you can easily do your face as well as your neck and if you have scarring elsewhere (like legs) or darkness you can swipe the pad across that area as well.

They leave my skin slightly tacky after use however after moisturizer I don’t notice this.

Results are not visible to me right away. I used them several days and really didn’t see much difference in my skin. I proceeded to use an entire box for a month straight without any other products aside from moisturizer on my skin.

After a month of use I can definitely see a different in my skin’s texture. Skin appears softer, smoother, and flakier, patchy areas are visibly smooth to the eye as well as the touch. I think they resurfaced my skin very well however, my dark spots didn’t lighten nor did my face appear brighter. Dullness seems to still be an issue as well so this didn’t restore any glow to my face.

Overall, Bliss That’s Incredi-‘Peel! Spa-Strength Glycolic Resurfacing Pads did an excellent job with drier areas of my face however, I had hopes and wishes for something more than exfoliation. I was hoping for brighter skin in the process. Sadly, I can’t speak for finer lines since I don’t let have the problem however, I’d love to hear from someone who does and has used these.

These are considerably cheaper than many peels I’ve purchased in the pass and the individually wrapped packaging makes them a very good pick in the glycolic acid category I just wish Bliss could confirm how much acid is in the formula.

A fairly good pick for gently and effective resurfacing skin and giving it a smoother look and feel.

Strange that they won’t tell you, but to my knowledge 10% is the highest gyl acid they can sell over the counter. I remember in esthetician school I used either 30 or 33% on my face and it burned me even though it wasn’t even on there a minute. My skin is too sensitive! I’m just a delicate flower. hehe

$49 for a months worth is not too bad. Is there an asian brand that you’d prefer over these? I absolutely love that you do reviews of everything that comes your way, not just high end.

aw thanks sarah really important to me to cover everything! ;-D I really love all beauty and glad so many of my reader’s are of the same mentality. Cure Natural Aqua Gel is a great Asian peel, it’s not an AHA though.

Kohl’s is constantly running sales on these now making them roughly 50 to 60% off these days which makes them a steal!

Weird, I emailed them twice and they told me 20% both times. Maybe they don’t like you lol! I personally didn’t see any lightening either but I had these 2 bumps on the top of my cheeks from over-exfoliating (BAD CJ!) and after using 15 of the pads they are completely gone and my skin is totally smooth 🙂 You should check out alpha hydrox’s oil free formula gel. Josh recommended it and it’s been working great for me.

i actually called but they kept beating around with it. 🙁 lol prob! “It’s that muse girl again!” ;-D but you got those deets from Sephora right? 20% seems an awful lot of GA! thanks for the rec, will give it a whirl! right now back on track with my miracle worker regime, LOVEEEEEEEEEE that line!

      • Cj

Nooo I emailed bliss directly! And I forgot to say, the alpha hydrox has 10% 🙂

        • the Muse

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! I thought you meant sephora. No luck! they wouldn’t disclose to me at least you got the deets! BRILLIANT!

What? glycolic ccid doesn’t mix well with dark spot correctors/lighteners? Neither my dermatologist nor my esthetician ever told me this! Are we talking about decreased efficacy, increased sensitivity or negative reactions?
