Canmake Jewel Star Eyes Review & Swatches

Canmake is a really super cheap Japanese Cosmetic brand that has hit or miss products in my experience.

I indulged in a shade of the Canemake Jewel Start Eyes Eyeshadow a few months ago and forgot I had it so I decided to finally give it a little test out.

Here are my thoughts.

This comes in a tiny plastic compact, a little smaller than a US quarter. Although small it’s still big enough to fit a finger or brush into the well comfortably.

I believe there are eight shades total of Jewel Star Eyes and I happened to pick up number 8 which is a light shimmering peach.

Best application technique would be fingers in my experience with the product as you can swipe, build, and blend out easily with this method although some might not be keen on dipping into the shadow with these fingers. You can of course, use a brush if you like, I just felt like I had more control with fingers.

The formula is a creamy texture that applies and blends fairly easily. It does have a rather slow dry down time but nothing too bothersome and this allows ease of build up as you have plenty of time to fiddle with the product as you await drying time.

I was disappointed for a few reasons with this shade. It creates a nice natural look but pigmentation is very sheer. I was hopeful it would be a lighter but not too sheer peach however I felt like I got a good deal of sparkle but no real color. On top of the weak color pay off I was horrified how badly it creased. Even with very good eye primer in place it still creased awfully within a three hour period. The creasing was so bad that it was incredibly noticeable so I had to sit around and re-blend it out, it was either this or take it off completely mid-day.

Sadly, Canmake Jewel Star Eyes lives up to its cheaper price tag with a formula that isn’t all that great. A tiny hint of more pigment and I might have overlooked the creasing action but this combined with creasing problems and I feel the need to give it a big thumbs down.

Not loving it.

Yup, I have the same one (different color-06) and found it creased a lot. Though 06 has decent pigmentation. I also got their Eyeshadow Base, which was a total waste of money, in my opinion.
