Lorac Wild For TANtalizer Collection Review & Swatches

This was provided to me by a brand for review but all opinions expressed are my own

Lorac Wild For TANtalizer Collection is making its debut today on my face. It’s super hot today, first real hot day we got in New York, so a bronze-y look seemed the order of business when I woke up this morning.

I feel Lorac is terribly overlooked sometimes because they seriously make some of the best eye shadows ever and have such great, inexpensive sets during seasonal releases. Their Summer 2012 Collection is sizzling and their new Lorac Wild For TANtalizer Set is a mere $39 taking care of lips, eyes, face, and accessorizes you with a nifty bag too.

Take a look!

This set includes:

This a little different from Lorac since they favor releasing limited edition palettes for their seasonal launches. Granted, they always have some sort of set that pops up but nothing like this in the past. Both the shadow and bronzing powder come in a flip top, cardboard compact with a full size mirror inside. This packaging is slim and easy to store but won’t travel well since it might open during transport so be aware if you do tuck it into your bag to wrap a rubberband around it to keep it securely closed. I find the palettes very cute and practical as well since the shadows have larger wells and are easy to get at with a brush.

Lorac’s eye shadow formula is typically silky with a thinner consistency however, lately they have been favoring a Stila style formula which I quite like. This formula is buttery, with a velvety texture with excellent color pay off but sans the frost you’d get with a Stila eys shadow.

Shades:

  • Fierce
  • Tigris
  • Saber
  • Panthera

I think the shades can be mistaken for ones you’d find in Lorac’s Unzipped Palette and yes, on some levels, they are similiar but I find they head off into a more bronze-y, warmer realm. I only used Fierce in my look below because I find contrasting with such similiar shades a little difficult. Fierce is the lightest shade where as the others are all chocolate browns and end up looking very similiar to the other when blended together. So I do think these work best with Fierce and one other shade OR using each shade in four separate looks alone but not together. Needless to say they blend like butter and have a smooth, even glide across lids.

The bronzing powder has the same soft, velvety feel as the shadows but with a thinner consistency. This is a very luxurious formula with a soft texture that blends easily on cheeks and face. It has a golden over spray that quickly disappears after a few strokes of a brush but no worries the powder underneath still yields a gorgeous golden bronze on cheeks with a metallic-like finish. The metallic finish is a little too much for my heavy handed application as you can see in my photos. I’m just a goof with bronzer application sadly but it does impart such a lovely golden bronze that’s completely wearable. I didn’t get a muddy or too orange-y finish from this at all.

Lorac also includes an exclusive shade of Lips With Beneifts Gloss in Raoul. I didn’t like the original Lips with Benefits formula because they were too nude for me but I am enjoying the TANilizer shades. Raoul is exclusive to this kit and is a peachy nude shade with a swirl of bronze.

I mentioned this before but I absolutely love the makeup bag they included. I typically toss bags like this into a big drawer I have which pretty much is the graveyard for makeup bags from sets I purchase. But I’ve been making use of this. It’s cute for tucking cash, keys, and essentials in and has a wooden bamboo wristlet that allows you to tote it around easily.

This set is a mere $39 which works out to less than $10 per item in the set. It’s a deal in my opinion.

Overall, makeup sets come and go through my beauty life and some are hits where as others are misses but no doubt that Lorac is a hit. This contains quality products at a very affordable price and allows for an easy Summer look in minutes.

hey musey! i just wanted to let you know the new layout is beautiful but wrecks havoc on my kindle fire! i don’t know if I’m alone in this but it crashes the web browser and last night it froze up the whole thing and i had to let the battery die. i tried you on an ipad and worked fine but i dont have any other android tablets to test you on ;p

i wish teh bronzer wasnt overspray! i love collecting pretty patterned bronzers/blushes/highlighters.

tini this should be fixed hun. try clearing the kindle’s cache, shut it down, and restart the web browser. see if this helps. if not disable java when viewing my site, it should work fine without java enabled. So sorry but so far I’ve tried it on Kindle Fire after the revisions were made and it worked a-ok! try clearing cache, this should help! I’m so sorry!

      :-/

I hear ya ;-D I love pretty highlighters too girl!

    • the Muse

aw thanks ana but I’m a little too heavy handed with it :-/

  • Elizabeth

Hmmm…did they mean tigress? Because the Tigris is a river, and that doesn’t really fit into the theme…if so that’s a pretty major typo :0

    • the Muse

hi elizabeth no i meant tigris, it says it on the palette as you can see it the photo.

  • Elizabeth

Haha I meant I think the palette itself may have it wrong! 🙂

  • meep

:O I don’t see hw you can dislike bronzers on you! It looks really great and not over done at all! 😀

    • the Muse

thanks meep you’re too kind…I tend to over do it so it looks a little…mm crazeeeee ;D

      • Ruth

Muse, you look beautiful! Overdone is a girl i saw a few weeks ago that looked like an oompa looma adding a shite-ton of bronzer to her face. you, sweetie, glow. when you turn orange, we’ll let you know. ;D

  • LINDARRAGNAR

Really great looking collection! The lip gloss is perfect on you Muse! I dont really like the bronzed it’s too frosty, but it look good on you( don’t be so harsh yourself!)

  • coco

I saw this yesterday and I was really impressed. Never used Lorac before, and I could not believe the soft texture and pigmentation of the shadows. It’s definitely a good deal!

  • Melissa

This is a nice look on you. I’m pretty tan already as it was a lovely 108 this morning at 10am. O_o but I think these colors my compliment my current shade of skin, I might have to have a swatchy at Ulta this weekend. I was planning on going on a LUSH spree but you know I might find $40 for a full set. Thanks for the review!

  • Cassie

I snorted out loud when I saw that the lipgloss was named “Raoul”… I always used to name my video game enemies (in the Gameboy Pokemon games especially) Raoul so the thought of “Raoul” on my lips just wouldn’t sit right lol.
Obviously that’s just me though; it looks lovely on you!! All of the products do, really!

  • cdev

I bought this set and I love It! I am a fan of a lot of Lorac products and I totally like this
one WAY better than the Unzipped palette… I actually returned the Unzipped palette as I
did not like the shadows as well as this one. I especially love the lip gloss w/ this one .
It is a peachy nude but it looks great over any other color lipsticks! A great summer
    bronzer eye and face kit!

  • Lisa Marie

I got this set a few months ago and have been LOVING the colors on me. As I get more tan, the more I love it. I am uber impressed with Lorac and have purchased further items from their line. Eyeshadows are phenomenal you’ll!

  • Majick

I skipped this one because I have the large unzipped and the smaller one that came out before this one. Jeepers, I hope I don’t cave, the bag is really cute. I like small bags like that with a wrist band to carry my cell and some cash at wrok (don’t have to lug around the big bag).

  • Michelle

I just returned mine back to sephora. Loved the gloss but I have the lorac unzipped palette & colors were so close. Wished they’d sell the gloss seperate!

  • Christine

Muse this whole set just looks really really flattering on you. I know it wouldn’t do any favors on my cool skin, but I love this look so much on you :D!

  • Esther

Sooo pretty! I am getting this from Beauty.com, like now! 🙂
