L’Oreal Infallible Eye Shadow Magnetic Coral Review & Swatches

Yup, you read the title of this post right. L’Oreal Infallible Eye Shadow in Magnetic Coral. Are you “oooo’ing and ahhh’ing” yet?

This shadow is part of the L’Oreal Cannes Collection that was inspired by the bright lights of the Cannes Film Festival.

For someone who has such a love/hate relationship with L’Oreal Infallible Eye Shadow you’d think I’d avoid purchasing so many but I couldn’t resist Magnetic Coral.

Come on, I so needed this one!

Magnetic Coral, sadly, isn’t available in the US. I had a friend of mine pick this up from England as I had this instant lemming when I heard there was a coral shade available of Infallible Eye Shadow.

This is the first time I tried out the European version of Infallible Eye Shadow and I have to say the formula feels a little differently than our version. I find these lighter, looser in texture, and silkier. The texture has a soft, mousse-like feel that applies lovely on lids unlike our version which sometimes goes a bit heavier and cakey on lids. I think my photo below shows how much smoother the shadow is on my lids compared to past photos I’ve taken with shades from the US.

Magnetic Coral is a bright shade of coral with hints of peach. I absolutely adore this color as I’m all about corals, tangerines, peaches, etc..lately!

Count me surprised that Infallible Eye Shadow has captured my interest again as I might need to haul more of the shades from England as this formula is far more forgiving than the one we have here in the US.

Overall, I’m hopeful Magnetic Coral will be launched at some point on our side of the pond.

If you’re really lemming it I’d suggest E-bay perhaps? Or if you have friends or family in the UK perhaps they can grab it for you. It’s well worth the effort of tracking it down!

Love!

I purchased this item.

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. Why does Europe get the good formula and we don’t? Why?!

    Pretty color!

  • Christina

where there other colors released as well? I could never pull of the coral but it looks amazing on you. 🙂

  • Libby

Ah! I love this color on you!

So gorgeous. I want it now :Q____

In addition to Magnetic Coral, Canada also recently released another coral shade in the Infallibles range called Pepsy Coral.
It’s similar to Magnetic Coral but instead of the fuchsia flecks it has gold flecks and might be a smidge lighter than Magnetic Coral. You might want to get your hands on that one too…just sayin’ xD

That color looks absolutely gorgeous on you. I wish I liked the Infallible formula but I really prefer the Maybelline Color Tattoo formula to the L’oreal brand. I bought L’oreal’s Infallible Endless Pearl and it’s ok, but the formulation is def not the same as the color tattoo business.

aw thanks sarah! well they are two different products hun one is a cream and one a powder so it’s hard to compare ;D!

Must. Have. I’ll be off work for 41 days so trust me..I’ll find a way:)

  • Kate

Soooooo jealous! I love it. I need it.

Angelic Mariposa, I appreciate that link, but that site went weird on me as I was almost finished checking out. I was on page 2 out of 4 checkout pages, and suddenly, it would not progress to the third page, no matter what I did.

Then everything just went poof! Wah> Maybe I will try again later. Did anyone else try this link? Did you have success?

I cannot express my love for these eyeshadows enough. I love the US formula, and I see no reason why I wouldn’t love a slightly different formula, too.

Thanks so much, Muse for this post. I get information here that I just don’t get anywhere else. 🙂 🙂 🙂

aw my pleasure kate! I haven’t tried ordering from there tbh! if you succeed let me know…!

    • Ruth

I tried several times from work and home and had the same problems. my cart would empty, halfway through check out and i wasn’t able to order from them at all.

  • Eli

I’ve got one shade and I adore it. Sadly, I haven’t seen this one here…

Perfect color…. for cheeks!! 😛 Jokes aside, don’t we all have a blush that its color is so close to this.. If I want a color like this on my eyes, I’d prefer a blush instead

  • Tiffany Martin

Oh my goodness this color is terrific. I’ve wanted a rosey copperytone since always, and here it is!

  • Ruthless

I got Magnetic Coral , a turquoise, a taupey copper and a silver lavender from London drugs (canada) they are all new shades, but the display had nothing to do with cannes as far as I can remember.

The other coral was listed as “Pepsi Coral” and wasn’t as nice as magnetic so I skipped. What is up with Pepsi coral as a name though?

    • Paula

I don’t get it, either. A play on ‘Pepsi Cola’? Huh. But I just got Magnetic Coral yesterday, and love it! (oh, Muse, why do you make these things seem so yummy? 🙂

  • Kerry Lauder

OMG I want this color, I hope it’s launched here! Yeah, their formula looks better/easier to work with than ours, how odd!

  • Andrea Lopez

Hey Muse! I have a color very similar to this released limited edition in the states, called Cherie Merie I believe?
