L’Oreal Revitalift Repair 10 BB Cream Review & Swatches
I wasn’t so sure about L’Oreal Revitalift Repair 10 BB Cream considering my foray with LOreal Nude Magique BB Cream didn’t exactly turn into a great hooray.
So far, drugstore BB Creams aren’t exactly what you’d expect from a traditional Asian BB Cream but hey, props for trying guys.
L’Oreal Revitalift Repair 10 BB Cream was released in the UK recently so I decided to jump in and see what I thought.
L’Oreal Revitalift Repair 10 BB Cream is…interesting.
This formula supposedly targets the ten signs of aging and leaves skin with a silky, smooth feel. An advanced “pigment complex” gives skin a radiant, natural finish. According to L’Oreal the formula contains both Pro-Retinol, an anti-wrinkle active and Pro-Firmyl, boosts skin’s natural firmers.
Benefits:
- Wrinkles appear smoother
- Skin feels firmer
- Covers imperfections
- Enhances skintone
- Skin surface appears even
- Skin feels smoother
- Illuminates complexion
- Hydrates for 24 hours
- Covers age spots
- Protects against UV
They actually have a formula that successfully accomplishes several of the benefits above but not all ten mind you.
The problem here? It’s a glorified tinted moisturizer. If you can put aside the fact that coverage is super sheer you might be willing to get on board with it.
I liked it however, it isn’t a BB Cream in the traditional sense of the word since it contains a rather low SPF of 20 and secondly, the coverage is lacking. Most Asian BB Creams are heavily pigmented and offer full coverage. This is more of a tinted moisturizer in coverage but the good news is it does give skin a more flawless finish.
The formula is a super rich, creamy base. It’s beautiful to say the lease and quite resembles and rivals any good Asian BB Cream in terms of texture. It’s very hydrating, absorbs easily, and has a gorgeous smooth finish on skin. I can’t rave it enough for drier skin types however oily skin might think it’s a little too moisturizing. However, it doesn’t have an oily or greasy finish and it absorbs fully so you’re left with softer skin and a lighter coverage so you might just feel comfortable with it on a more oily skin type.
Skin does indeed feel firm or more “bouncy” to the touch after application. It really enhances my own tone and makes it less dull and more healthy with a natural glow (not a sparkly glow). The coverage is super sheer so it won’t hide acne scarring, dark spots, or any major issues but it will however even out skin tone and create a more uniformed, flawless finish. Coverage is weightless and very natural. The hydrating effect is long lasting so my skin feels moisturized through the wear time and never dry or dehydrated. Wear time will vary but I can get about five hours in before I see some minor fading, a little powder aids it to wear longer for me at around seven hours. I’m relieved it doesn’t oxidize or fade away super quickly!
What it doesn’t do is cover imperfections, dark spots, acne scarring, etc…it doesn’t offer the best protection in the world either as it only contains an SPF 20. Supposedly it treats finer lines and wrinkles but I have neither on my face, I can only hope it prevents them as well.
Overall, L’Oreal has captured the essence of a BB Cream with L’Oreal Revitalift Repair 10. The formula and texture are definitely more of a traditional BB Cream. The only thing missing here is coverage and sun protection. A higher SPF and more coverage would make it worthy of the BB Cream title.
I must say, I’m giving this one a pass. It deserves a Muse Approval.
I loved it.
If you enjoy BB Creams but always wanted one that was a bit sheerer. Maybe something for a more natural look, I think you’ll enjoy L’Oreal Revitalift Repair 10 BB Cream. It creates a smooth, hydrated, natural finish on my face that eases dullness and that’s exactly what I desire in my base products.
Gorgeous stuff and well worth a try out.
I had a friend pick this up for me in London but I’ve seen it on Evil-bay for fairly reasonable prices. It comes in two shade selections.
With LOreal Nude Magique BB Cream launching shortly in the US I have hopes we’ll also see L’Oreal Revitalift Repair 10 BB Cream as well.
Gorgeous stuff.
Not a true BB Cream but VERY close.
