Maybelline Color Sensational Lipstick Tinted Taupe Review & Swatches

Yeah, yeah I’m still busy punishing myself with the evil, dry formula of Maybelline Color Sensational Lipstick. I can’t help myself. They keep putting out these killer shades that I have a hard time saying no to, cut a beauty junkie a break, it’s a jungle out there.

I recently reviewed my kinda sorta HG (holy grail) color of choice at the moment from the Maybelline Color Sensational Nude and Natural Collection, Cinnamon Stick.

At the time that I purchase Cinnamon Stick I also snatched up Tinted Taupe which I’m loving it as well….

But Y U have such a rubbish formula Color Sensational?

Tinted Taupe is a rather friendly berry brown shade that looks incredible with a smoky brown eye look. I’m really love these colors in the Nude/Natural range and I’m kinda sorta looking forward to exploring more particularly when I’m finding gems like Cinnamon Stick and Tinted Taupe amongst them.

Sadly, the issue of formula remains the same…!

Maybelline really needs to re-think the texture and overall formula of Sensational Lipsticks. If they added a little more moisture I’d probably proceed to pop one of every shade into my cart!

These just have a dry, unnatural finish and a tuggy application that doesn’t apply particularly smooth. A little gloss, thankfully, on top keeps things looking good.

Formula aside, do check out some of these new colors particularly if you’re a fond fan of nude, natural shades.

Anyone try this color?

Do share!

I purchased this item.

I love this shade, makes a very flattering neutral for my NC35 skin tone!

we get a range of color sensational called moisture extreme here in india. They are almost comparable to texture of lipbalm and opaque pigmentation at drugstore price. Color sensational is desert dry. Do try moisture extremes if you get a chance ! 🙂

These lipsticks do not come close to the discontinued (Waaah!) Moisture Extreme line. And what is up with the funky smell of the CS, Maybelline? I think I own 3 of these. Considering the number of color choices, and how much I love lipstick, only owning 3 of ’em is saying something!

I have blown through two tubes of this and am on a third. I feel like this shade was made for me and my coloring. It is so versatile. I like that the formula is a bit dry, it seems to lend to long lasting color on my lips.

I haven’t tried cinnamon stick. I recently have been into vivid reds and bright bright pinks.
